I tend to believe in the mirror rather than the scale. I think it's also pointless to talk to zombie-wannabe on weight management. It will go gila2.

are we suppose to have meals before or after workout?
as i know, there are two options,

a) exercising with an empty stomach (before breakfast) burns excess fat in your body.

b) exercising after breakfast/meal would provide more energy to burn calories.

I usually go for a.. but i heard that it's not good because i would have a heavy breakfast after that, and my workout would not be so effective?

hi all.
just started working out after years of accumulating fat tongue.gif
aim to lose at least 20 kg.

i brisk walk to office and back = total about 20 mins, 5 times a week.
so far hit the gym = 5 times only.
been cutting back carbo.

the bad news.....i don't see any difference in my weight cry.gif

in gym, i normally start with 15 mins walk on treadmill, 30 mins on either elliptical machine or bike.
is that enough?

i want to lift weight but i don't know how to begin.

please help icon_question.gif

you won't see the difference so soon la.

in fact if you do weights, then you might notice a little bit of gain at the start.

you shouldn't be worried about the weight part, some people have ideal weight but if you consider their lean mass vs fat, it's horrible!

being slim / skinny doesn't mean healthy, some people slim but mostly fats and weak muscles.

Woman don't have to go to 15% bodyfat to look good. Even man is hard to reach 15% bodyfat. 21% bodyfat is already average for a woman. 21-25% bodyfat is equal to 15-19% bodyfat for man. All man knows it's hard to get to 15% bodyfat rclxub.gif

If we have the heart to go 15%, why not? Why must stay at 21%?

got another question, how to reduce bodyfat at the sametime maintain the muscle mass? My bodyfat is found to be around 20%, I dunno it is accurate or not but the errors won't go that much anyway. My bodytype is ectomorph, aka "small bones" gene, however I grow quite a lot in recent years. I do a lot of sit-up crunches as heavy as 40lbs on the situp crunch bench, the abs is quite tough now, but the muscle definitions are covered by layers of fat sad.gif

the problem now is, I want the bodyfat to reduce to at least 17%, but not at the cost of muscle mass, which is the thing I afraid if I live a calorie deficit diet.

supplementary info:

height: 179cm
weight: 70.5kg
BMI: 22
Basal Metabolic rate: 1620 kcal
Fat mass: 14.5kg
Fat FreeMass: 56 kg
Total Body Water: 35.7kg
