Once I went to check out their Confidence Series.
Lucky, that I managed to hear few minutes of the C2 and C4.
I knew that I might not be able to own a pair of them in my life.
But what an experience to listen to such speakers with jaw dropping price and size.

I wish I can get a chance to listen to Euphonia and Helicon.. rclxm9.gif

Cheapest dyn pair is about 4800 i think.

Ya i have audition Confidence C2 b4, my friend has it and he use it with his 70inch kuro (i tot i was fat till i saw this tv). He also have Saphire (80k per pair) for HT and Audience for his sister. =.= tat wan is elite tauke.

Im happy with mine 2nd hand pair. Cheaper than Diamond 9.5 that i originally wanted to buy.

Sapphire?? This is a special model from Dynaudio.
One that I can only drool about..
Your friend has a wonderful collection. rclxms.gif

The DALI Concept Series is Value-for-Money.
The materials aside, the price to pay for such size is considered worthy.
My room is definitely not big enough to fit the Concept 10. rclxub.gif

For sure this year's KLIAV we will see a showcase of DALI from A&L, right?

If not mistaken, the ribbon tweeter is very particular and fussy on the seating position but sound extremely good at the certain spot.

To add a bit more...
When you stand up, the sound from the tweeter will be different as the vertical dispersion is a narrower.

Just happen to drop by CT Seong place at Bangsar last week.A disgruntled owner who just bought the brand new the great Dynaudio Confidence C1 bookshelf speaker,Jeff Roland amplifier Continuum 500 and Naim Cd player (forget which model) After he bought it already from CMY,he happened to drop by A & L Bangsar and tested the VTL tube amp,PS Audio CD player which is a seperate CD player and also tested the Dali Helicon 300 MK2 bookshelf speaker. Know what the disgruntled owner straight way trade in the new items by giving up the unused items without even thinking how much he is loosing by topping up the diff. During the demo, they were using the same sources and only by swapping the speaker. I could feel the difference immediately, the great Dynaudio sound rather muddy and not as detail as the Dali 300 though Dynaudio has a better bass over the Dali 300. So you see in this hobby, everybody want a perfect setup. Even this high end flyer also got trapped.

Lesson learnt here...
Never choose a set up hastily and too quickly.

Knowing your own taste and what exactly you want are the most important things.
Then, go around town and audit 1st.
After a few rounds, then only make decision.

I fully agree with you, brother Jchong. Its better have the audition first. I think i should stop buying those oversea mag. quite rather misleading info. I still can't get over why the very keng Dynaudio C1 are like that. Don't know whether they are manufacture in China or Denmark. rclxub.gif

Glad to see the buyer managed to get what he likes in the end.
Well, taste is quite a subjective matter, anyway.
What might not suit our ears, could be others' favourite.
Reminds me of B&W which is not my cup of tea but I believe this brand suits many people out there.

Before we invest, we should always know what we are looking for and what we will like to get.
Some people like fast paced songs, some like jazz, some like classical, some like pop, some like R&B, some like combo of two different genres, some like action movies, some like horror movies etc etc...
Each type of speakers out there has their own characteristics and that specialty might or might not be the one that you are looking for.

At the same time, I would not say the C1 are being over rated by magazines.
It might be just a coincidence that the C1 suits the reviewer's taste very much.
Yes. I said it MIGHT BE. smile.gif

Just got a pair of Dali Ikon 6, sweet during first 20 seconds hearing. Find it hard to finish a song coz the tweeter is producing too much 'sharp' tone.
My ears cannot stand it.
*
Suggest you to let the speakers run-in first and then give them a proper listening.
Sometimes, the sharp thingy might be caused by other factors like cables or even amp matching.
But still, let them run-in 1st. nod.gif

QED Silver Annv XT cables are not made of silver though the word "silver" is being used.
It is actually copper-based. smile.gif

I dont think QED will be selling them at such prices if they are being made of silver. biggrin.gif

I find it a little bit bright too. Not only speaker cables but u need a warmer amp (obviously higher-end model) to counter the "sharp" sound. I once tested using my 1909, the tweeter really sharp!
*
In some cases, an under-powered amplification will make the system sound bright or boomy.
I also have the Silver Annv XT and I would say yes, they are brighter but at the same time they also improved the bass of my system.
