You may want to use a proxy to download books for Kindle for PC.
My account got detected that it's not in the country I set one day after downloading ONE free book from Amazon. sad.gif

I changed back to Malaysia. No more books to download. sad.gif

I tried with another account using Hotspot Shield. I'm not sure if I downloaded too fast or something. Got detected after 7 books.

Maybe I need to modify the address to be the same as the proxy location I use.

Strange. Browser cookie?

I'm still trying to figure out which method would escape detection. By right, proxy "should" work. sad.gif

Now I'm wondering if I limit it to 2-3 books a day, will it trigger the detection. Or maybe once a day.

Need to figure the limit out before I start buying books from Amazon. sad.gif

Maybe need to switch "Kindle for PC" as well. I think there is an unique ID there. So i'm not sure if they detect based on that.

Will test out more and update here too. smile.gif

Maybe your unique ID for K4PC (if there is one) got flagged?

Would test it out later tonight on my other PC at home. I'm thinking that maybe we need to enable Hotspot shield during the installation of K4PC as well.

Hello all

I am thinking of getting a Kindle and I have a large number of PDFs file that I read, reports with some pictures etc.

I just wondered how do you convert the PDF to .azw/.mobi format and how does a converter PDF with some figures appear on the Kindle?
*
A few options..
- viewing it on Kindle without conversion
- use calibre
- email to ur_username@free.kindle.com

Haven't really tested viewing pdf or any conversion. If you want, I could test it out (using Kindle3). Just give me a sample PDF.

Nope the 3G whispernet (not thingy!) does not work in Malaysia. Since Kindle is not officially in Malaysia it makes no sense for Amazon to sign up deals with Maxis/Celcom/Digi to provide 3G access to their Kindle customers
You're better off buying the WiFi only version - its cheaper also (I have a Kindle Wifi only version)

It's actually working in Malaysia. I have the 3G version and I have tested it out. Although I tend not to use it to avoid detection that my Kindle is in Malaysia. smile.gif
