Thanks and appreciate your answer. But let me get this right. Does it mean that if i own an Ipad and use the Kindle for ipad app i do not need to own a Kindle.
Is my conclusion Correct ? Or are the ebooks from Kindle easier to read on a Kindle rather than on a Ipad because of their format. If i don't need to buy a Kindle this will save me some good money which i can splash on other gadgets.

Would appreciate your advise.

Thank you.

you can just buy books from amazon and read on your ipad via the kindle app.

easier to read or not is subjective, for me i prefer a non-illuminating screen. means kindle surface is like paper, while ipad is a giant light bulb to me smile.gif

Thank you all of you for your reply and advise. Looks like the Kindle screen has less strain on the eyes based on the feedback you have given me. Looks like i will order a 6 inch Kindle.

Thank you all of you for your advise.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice and the offers everyone.

I did some research yesterday and I also found the Calibre software.  I've converted some of the documents I have into .mobi.

I've just received my Kindle today and I'll test it out tonight and share it back here how the PDFs are like after converted.

Hi All
I have a few questions which i hope i can get some help and find the answers.

1.In my Amazon account, is it mandatory to register a device for someone to download any ebooks from the Kindle store.?

2. I notice that in the Kindle Store , the book price is stated and there is a note " Will be automatically delivered By Wireless "

What does it mean actually ? Does it mean that if i purchase this book , it will be downloaded to the device i am using at present or it would be sent to a virtual dropbox folder so that i can download the book to any device i have registered in the Kindle store in my account. If this is the case i can see that registering a device would be mandatory to prevent unregistered devices from accessing the folder and downloading it.

Hope I can clear some some of the above so that i ahve a clearer understanding of the whole process of buying books from the Kindle store before iKindle arrives.

Thanking you in advance.

Cheers

I see from the Kindle store the follo

In addition to what kiawin said, you can also select the books you want on Amazon, and select where you want the books to be delivered to (if you have more than one device or app running Kindle).

If your Kindle is connected when you make the purchase, the books will be delivered to you immediately.  Else, you just need to turn your device on and synchronise it and the books will be downloaded.

Which means, you can actually start your book collection even before you Kindle arrives!

By the way, I tested the Kindle with PDF, for high quality PDFs (nicely presented etc) the coverter works like a charm.  But for poor quality PDFs or those with lots of figures, the conversion don't work that well.

However, I must say the Kindle is well worth it if you're a heavy fictional/classic books reader as you can get these cheaply or free.  If you like reading factual books, then Kindle is not the best.

Thank you for all who replied to my questions. Appreciate your help and advice. I guess i can start ordering the books even before my Kindle arrives .

Thank you once again all of you.

Cheers
