Well, my dad has this perception of changing car every 4-5 years according to the model life cycle. Mainstream brands/models like the merc/bmw/toyota/honda and etc has better resale value in the long run. So instead keeping an old car for 10 years, plus all the cost of fixing and replacing wear and tear parts. You able to enjoy 2 new cars in the 10years interval every 5 years. You spend less on wear and tear parts coz cars only start to giv problems after 5 years these days. Your depreciation for a 10 years car and two new cars each 5 years are about the same.
