the news says deputy PM mentioned gov. will decrease car tax by jan 2010... if that's the case is not worth to buy M3 for now..?!
really like this car and thinking to get M3 2.0...

Do you really think this will happen next year? They've increased the loan interest rate for NON national cars JUST to protect Proton and Perodua...

I don't really think this will ever happen IF Proton and Perodua exist in our BolehLand...

No offense... but dream on... yawn.gif

US spec got the AFS (Adaptive Front-Lighting System) that will swivel while you are cornering... dang.... I want that as well LOL...

Not to mention TCS and DSC also drool.gif

But no way we can get these specs for RM130K...

If i were to choose these 3 cars, it will definitely be the Mazda 3. The built and ride quality is definitely the best. I believe most of us buy a car for everyday use and not to race and see who can outrun who....for me, Mazda 3 is the closest to continental ride among the 3.
Civic really has the elegant look and spacious but the ride quality is really not as good as Mazda 3..coupled with the countless complaint about its CKD Melaka quality....I will have no problem even if its a CBU Thailand.

Lancer looks sporty and nice to me but is the most uncomfortable car in its class...and the cabin noise is really really unbearable. I almost thought i was driving a motor boat!! Is not surprising when I knock on the door, it sounds so thin and soft...the insulation is so so bad.

There is always a compromise.....when you want good handling car, you sacrifice on comfort...when you want good acceleration, you compromise on fuel consumption..Car companies can tune up or tune down their car but they will have to weight on the fuel consumption.....Especially Mazda where they have big market concentration in Europe and as we all know Europe have the strictest environmental rules. Cars with lower emission will enjoy higher rebate in taxes....Mazda cars in Malaysia and Europe actually came from the same factory in Japan.
Of course over here you can always tuned up your car yourself if you want but you can't upgrade on your car material quality.

Couldn't agree more with Iceman... rclxms.gif

I was in a dilemma choosing the big 2 --> CKD Civic 2.0 or CBU Lancer GT? (2010 Mazda3 was not launched that time - Around March this year)

Then I chose Civic rather than Lancer because the Lancer's interior is a lil' shabby even though it's a CBU from Japan.. (no offense to Lancer owners, but it's really a good buy..)

Due to the Civic 2.0 late delivery, I was quite pissed by Honda Malaysia and canceled the booking and tried to look for other alternatives. The day I decided to cancel the booking from Honda, the next day was the Mazda 3 launch event in Berjaya Time Square. Maybe it's meant to be.. LOL tongue.gif

Then I went to test drive the Mazda 3 2.0 and saw the real car.. Man.. It really looks better than the pictures that I've got from the net... (usually it's the other way round).. blink.gif After the test drive session... didn't think twice.. booked straight away.. really happy with the build quality, gadgets, the BI-Xenon headlights, LED tail lights and etc etc... Since the paper stated the BHP is slightly lesser than Civic and Lancer, but I couldn't tell the difference of the engine performance though.. but heck.. like Iceman said.. the car it's not meant for racing.. and I say, it's the comfort and the good feel of being inside of the car is the most important. Who will be in the car more? The owner right? Not the outside people that judge the car...

But still have to wait until next month to confirm the exact delivery date like some of you here that booked the car few days after launched... but it's worth the wait... Who can beat me? Waiting for a car to deliver from March... share your pain with me if you are worst than me... hahaha

Well... The sales man must be cursing in his heart..

I DID floor the accelerator and the RPM reaches 7k RPM for the Mazda 3 2.0.. In fact, you can really blow the engine if you keep over revving it because the gear won't change if you set it to "Manual"...

The torque was there... I always felt the push and the car was not loaded of course.. Just me and the sales man...

Torque :
Mazda3 2.0 --> 182 Nm / 4500 RPM
Civic 2.0 --> 188 Nm / 4500 RPM
Lancer GT --> 199 Nm / 4250 RPM

Kerb Weight :
Mazda3 2.0 --> 1300kg
Civic 2.0 --> 1315kg
Lancer GT --> 1385kg

As you can see from the specifications listed above taken from each respective manufacturer's websites... I reckon 3 of them are very close in a quarter mile drag race.. but so far nobody races 3 of them together.. as for civic vs lancer video in youtube.. it's hard to judge though... sometimes civic wins, sometimes lancer wins.. driver's problem? kekeke...

Mazda3 with the lowest weight with lowest torque and Lancer GT the heaviest with highest torque.. Fair and Square...

Actually Mazda 3 max torque at 4000rpm not 4500rpm...another practical and ideal everyday driving....
Well according to mazda3.com.sg it stated 4500rpm...
Malaysian site stated 4000rpm... weird...

I don't think he will be unhappy, not his car anyway....but one lesson to learn here, never buy a demo car... shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif I personally saw someone testing a Lancer and I can hear both the engine and tires were screaming..
Haha... I did encounter some sales man mentioned to me like this "The bugger test the car like mad but in the end no booking.." bla bla bla and the story continues.

Nowadays people are desperate in "cheaper" car... they'll grab whatever they can when it comes cheap... My sales man told me that their Mazda6 test car sold within days!!
