Congrats to gahpadu, that's one cool door visor! I expect to see a quite aggressive one like those mivecs' but what the heck, it's not going to look cool with M3 anyway. The one like yours is a smarter choice for our kinda car...

I only feel some slight vibration when I really floor the pedal, e.g going up hill etc, but it fades when we got back the momentum.

Jumajuma, I think the deal that u get is on for quite some time already. Is it really a deal or that's the real price? Personally I think it is a good place to do paint coating, but I dunno whether its worth doing it or not. Coating is good, but it should not cost you half of getting a new, whole-body paint job isn't it?

I tint with Ecotint ray barrier. U get dark greenish effect on the screen, which is good. It also potong panas quite decently. I got 10 yrs warranty againsts defects n samans. Only drawback is the tint is not so dark.

Initially i wanna install 3M crystalline 70 but i heard it's not smart tag friendly, so i change my mind...

i got better deal at sierraglow.. gonna fixed the appointment later.
i doubt we can get new paint at 2x of the cost, especially with those crystal white. I live in apartment, summore i travel alot and normally park in open space area.
i have another car which is viva also pearl white and now the color is become dull already, the car age is only 2 year and i dont want the same thing happen to my m3.

p/s: if we can spend 2k for the tint why not spend few hundred for the coating.
*
If u park open space then it might worth it, since you're exposed to bird's drops, tree sap and dont know what etc. Only that spending near 1K for that is tad too expensive, IMHO. I do mine at hartamas for RM200 only; never expect it to be an armour, just to evade bird's dropping threat is good enough alredi.

Tint is different, it supposed to potong panas and if any rm100 film can do the job i would be much happy to install it.

Hey, no specialize mazda accessories shop in JB that stock M3 extra curricular accessories? Since they're nearby, they could get stuff from spore didn't they?

If you really carry people around your ride, then maybe rear space is that important to u. Forte is a good buy anyway, so u could not lose anything literally.

To me, i did not carry people at the back seat everyday, so i can not afford to miss the superb handling and steering feels that M3 deliberately provides.
Its addictive I love to drive the car anywhere...

do we need to recalibrate the meters if we changed to 18 as the diameter will be larger and it also consumes more petrol right?
*
I've been told by the SA no need recalibration of any sort, if u change the tyres. How true is that, I dont know.

Guys u might want to keep those 17'' stock rims, just in case u gonna use it another day or need to keep it back to factory setting for some reason. If you're not, be prepared to pay RM2k / rim, which sums up to RM8K for stock rims, directly from japan....in the case if u would ever need it again lah.

better go to Bermaz Jalan Ampang .I did 10 and 20 k at their service center.very fast coz it was very little customer sent their car to this SC
*
Agreed, very little customer. But it's not that quick lah on my experience. Maybe I come a lil bit later (12.30 noon) and they told me service staff went for lunch already. So i hv to wait for them to come back 1.30pm to start work on my car. It's done by 4.30pm.

I'm not really mad waiting for them to come back for lunch, since maybe that place always get little customer come for servicing, so i don't think they have many staff anyway. However it's really bored waiting for 4 hrs without TV, newspapers and coffee machine. Only few mags that i read back to back.

Luckily the service people are having the "we're drivers too" thinking in their head. For 20K service, we're supposed to change the cabin filter but since my filter is still okay, they told me no need to change at that moment. Save me over hundred bucks.

I would prefer to service @ PJ where i can get wifi, astro, lots of mags, newspapers, free coffee / milo unlimited, and a free carwash after service works is done.

Them lots @ jalan ampang really do good job over there, but these few tiny perks is nice to have.

Dear Jumajuma, you're fighting a very good contender. It comes to no surprise to me, when u say M3 can't beat Lancer. I have few japanese friends, here are few notions from them:

Mitsubishi / Lancer - "You drive a Lancer? Mitsubishi always produce fast cars!"

Mazda - "You drive a Mazda? That is our (Japanese) proud answer to BMW!"

Hence, I believe Mitsubishi are always known for power, while Mazda for its driving prowess and built quality. I prefer to have the latter, because most of the time i see cars speeding like hell are Vivas and Wiras anyway...anybody can pedal to the floor, man...but ride and handling can't be easily installed.

Few Lancer friends already fretting about Proton's move to re-badge Lancer. Gonna render 2nd hand lancer price lower...

Boy United, I don't think u can get many freebies from Mazda, hence the likes of Audi, VW, Jags etc....these marquee don't need freebies to sell their cars. U pay premium price for the quality u get from your ride. It's as simple as that. However u can check wt ur SA in case he can offer you something.

What to do before delivery? Get a nice number, pal! After WYY 9999, I think wilayah numbers wouldn't be as exciting anymore, if u want wilayah plate nos. Think of Singaporean plate nos......u get what i meant.

i've got a free cap and thermos too which i think is pretty useless la...and oh i also got free tinting...hehe.

Well guys I could say you're luckier. biggrin.gif

The only thing I get is that registration of zoom-zoom club which every Mazdarian got lah...but it's a good thing, coz i love the discount for pizza and Kenny Rogers.

Cap n thermos is petty stuff but free tinting? Hmm...depends on what brand of tint you've got. It could be a great deal!

I think the rebadge lancer will be on. But they might still want to push waja stock soon. If you're lucky, maybe at discounted price (or full of freebies).

I also heard about free GPS. That was a real deal. But from what i know, it's only for 2009 registered car.

that Mazda club card will be beneficial to u only if u eat Kenny R, Papajohn pizzas, krispy kreme doughnut etc. My wife loves Kenny R, so every now and then getting 10% discount is really something to me. Paying less is always better, isnt it? hahaha

If that's the case, then I guess they have already stopped wajas production didnt they?

Mind you, maintaining a Lancer will cost more than maintaining our M3 (my friend's ABS sensor cost him RM3k for GLS!), and much much more than a Waja...

But i thought ABS is under warranty? or unless your friend's car is over the warranty period already then its a big hole to the wallet eh.

The Mazda card is good for Starbucks too!

Oh btw, i was wondering if our card expires already then will they automatically send us a new one or do we need to follow up?
*
Yeah warranty's over so it's a tough one to cough for him! BTW, he also complains that his service charges are more than of M3 2.0, eventhough he do that at EON service center.

Yep i forgot to mention starbuck....but actually, the main use of that card is to flash it in front of friends with lancer, civic, altis or even peugeot hahaha... rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

i heard that u still can use & enjoy the discount nonetheless, even when the card expires. Not sure myself though...

I don't need to "think" so.

I experienced it the real deal - my friends wt that other car really hope their ride comes with such exclusive card, after they see mine.

Well, envy after all, is all down to oneself. I can have all my neighbour driving jaguars, without feeling even a pinch of envy whatsoever, dude.

Ur FC around the same with me.. avoid the jam area and expect around 7.6~8.0L/100km
*
With consideration driving, u can get that 7.+/100km. Even in casual jam. But driving like that all the time kills the fun factor.

Weekdays press the accelerator sparingly. Weekend go zoom-zooming.

How do you guys get so good FC? Mine is about 9.5l/100km. I dont really step on the pedal alot. Just normal driving. Not even speeding. =(
*
Could it be that u do a lot of traffic jam before? Try resetting your FC soon after you refuel. Then u can get better picture...

Well ssaturn, velocity red is worth the wait. I don't think we have it that many here...

Resale value, cant comment bcos no one is selling yet.
*
Resale value depended much on the 2hd hand sale of the car. Would many interested in getting 2nd hand m3? There will be, but not as many as Civic would.

Again you would want to see what's the ratio of M3 vs Civic user is. 1:1000? 1:30000? If every M3 sold is also every 1000 Civic sold, then imagine how much would want a 2nd hand civic, as compared to M3. Not to mention more and more people would be able to acquire civic (and M3) at its 2nd hand price range...

So i don't really see the point of comparing Civic vs Mazda 3 resale value. It would not change even if you give it a 100 years more to go.

For better resale value, go for Civic / Vios / City / Persona and whatnot...Mazda 3 have good resale value but could not really be as good as them.

Bermaz SA kinda of told me that the windscreen costs about 4k.mega_shok.gif Thats why didnt opt for windscreen cover in the Insurance. Too ex...

Less demand, for sure the windscreen of these kind of cars will be expensive. 4K, even though it's expensive, it's better than peugot 308 (7K).

But glad to note that take up for the Mazda 3 is getting better..July 2010 100+ units sold
which means....hopefully better 2nd value and cheaper parts. hmm.gif
*
Well bro, 7K is for windscreen alone. I dont think the windscreen and the panoramic roof is off the same glass.

Agree. See many M3 around lately. Simply can see 2-3 units anywhere, any given day in KL. 2nd hand value could be better.

Ya... I drove for my baby 1.6 and I feel floating also while speed up...  anyone can suggest or recommend any tyre shop upgrade rims price is nice n reasonable?? ... how much it needed to upgrade to 16" ? I heard 16" is much exp than 17" is it ?
*
U can change at GS in Jalan 222 (that Mazda panel acc shop). Otherwise any rim shop also can lah, more choice to pick n choose.

17'' would be more expensive than 16'' lah, the rims and the tires as well.

16'' is too small u can't tell the difference later. brows.gif

For my baby, i went to tyre shop in Bdr Sunway, found 1 original 2nd hand mazda6 17"(design with 5 kaki and looks a  bit like a windmill) rims still in almost perfect conditions. Ask boss traded in with my stock 15" tyres dat just run 2000++ km, he quote me very nice figure of top up only rm1600 for full rims and tyres. im using hankook don't remember which type one but is for grip as well, the tyre quite noisy i don't mind coz safety 1st.(im driving the 1.6 version)

Overall very satifsifed with the rims, overall my car looks improved and more sporty. Just dat the car feel a lil bit heavier, no more floating sensation when cornering, driving at hi speed, feels its more planted to the ground. At hi speed 80-110km and cruising i think u'll save more than stock 15"probably beause of the higher momentum, but at town driving my MID shows it needs more power and consumption to move ur car. Performance wise not much difference than my stock 15 inch tyres before.

I think better upgrade straight to 17" bcoz u'll be using low profile tyres, the difference with stock 15" wouldnt look so noticeable.

Just to share wif u guys ^. Happy driving.
*
Hi bro, that's a steal rclxms.gif

I traded in my old 15 inchers to stock 17'' at GS for RM2K. They gave me Bridgestone 215/45.

It's a little bit noisy, but I heard noisy tires has better grips (potong air). It's a thing u have to compromise. You can have a quieter tires but it's grip isn't as good, especially during water-clocking.

RX-8 rims would be lovely for M3 to me personally, but that's 18''...I would have changed to 18'' but a friend advised not to, since it's gonna temper with comfort and ride, as well as your FC.

However I fail to differ that, when changed from stock 15'' to 17''. Maybe coz I use 15'' only for a month plus..

Count me in as well: furiezachs / M3 1.6 / graphite mica.

I heard M3 FC is anytime better than a Waja is that true?

Nowadays u can see more M3 on the road NOT only in KL, but even in remote places like Baling (Kedah), Teluk Intan (Perak) and even Bidor (Perak)...

Kudos rclxms.gif
