The right way is to read the stickies and do your research. Read up on technique and good nutrition, a lot. You won't go anywhere if you don't know what you're doing.

Also, you won't experience immediate gains, so determination is in order.

Try getting a pair of adjustable dumbbells that go up to 15kg each. That way, you don't have to keep buying new dumbbells when your strength progresses.

Most or all of the exercises listed there have either picture or video turorials along with information about the particular exercise.
