hanafinoor, thanks for reading!

goldfries: Indeed, it feels like a big smack in the head of those who I've heard:

"Think of aperture as a water tap. When you tighten the tap, less water comes in. So less light comes in so it takes longer to fill a bucket."

That analogy works too but these icons are as direct as you can get! I really hope it answers all those "what aperture and shutter speed to use?" questions.

alpha_company, yes, it looks like that is the case. As the YXTM grip for the D40 uses a infrared remote I don't see why they cannot do the same for the A230/330/380!

0168257061: The SAL5018 SAM has 7 aperture blades. Nothing new though, the Minolta 50mm F1.4 had it too and it seems Sony just carried the tradition on. I know the Canon 50mm F1.8 MkII has 5 heh.

However I think the distinction is in removing bright-line bokeh which is so common on 50mm lenses. Bright-line bokeh is responsible for turning your faraway out-of-focus paku-pakis plant into an annoying bunch of sharp lines!
*
yup..can use infrared but it wont autofocus/half-press... it just takes the pic without autofocusing.. not sure about the a330.. but that is the case with d40/d60 3rd party batt grip

not so good batt life... the a200 can get around 750 shots in the specs.. the a330 can take how many shots in the specs?

u just bought ur camera rite... so... haf u been utilising ur gear to the max yet? coz imho... its better to stay with entry level 1st rather than jump to semi-pro camera without knowing all the basic stuff that u can do with what u having now..
*
yeah... been using my d60 extensively.. love it. it's great. i felt that now it's somewhat limited..hmmm..

Limited?wat is limited?
*
focus point 3 only..kind of limited after using this for a while..
need something with a bigger body so that it's balanced with a heavy lens & also so that i can hold the camera more comfortably..
maybe something that can shoot faster..though the cheaper canon 40D is quite tempting with the low price tag and 6.5fps!
low noise at high iso

dunno... getting myself a tammy 70-200mm f2.8 instead... can't afford a G....
*
sigma more exp than tammy but i've read in reviews that it's much faster and more suitable for fast paced action compared to tammy..at least that's what i've read la..

though not going for a200-a350 la..the same only .tested already and d60 wins in terms of low noise & higher details at high iso...but looses in terms of focus point

not to forget that D60 requires you to buy lens with motor which is more expensive
a friend of mine traded his D60 for A200 just a week after buying smile.gif
*
to be honest.. most lens for nikon has motor built in now.. that's of no concern to me..

just the focus point.. and much better iso at even higher iso

yup iso wise i find that at iso above 400 a200/a300 starts to lose detail and has more noise than d60..that y i take that d60.

less noise at high iso more important to me rather than focus point.

Not really, just some fill in flash will do. Even better if you have flash extenders aka Beemers e.g. something like below
