For certain Samsung Tab devices to use 64GB microSDXC, you need to manually format the memory card into FAT32 format, not exFAT or NTFS file system format, some devices did not even recognizes exFAT & NTFS format, so the device does not show any memory card installed.

you mean with the SD adaptor? it will stick out of Macbook Air as shown in picture below, but it still can read & write, just the look not as elegent as third party solution SD adaptor to convert the SanDisk microSD to a non standard lenght SD card. you need a third party solution like http://theniftyminidrive.com/ or Apotop SmartSuit microSD Adaptor (maybe can get from online or taiwan)

i don't have actual S4 to test the SanDisk Ultra, but i do have a few customers who are using the SanDisk Ultra on using S3 & Note 2, so, i would say should be no problem since the phone are from Samsung as well.
