Watched the film today in KLCC. Can't say I had the same nerdgasm after getting out of the theatre as with the first movie.

Movie is too long, with fight sequences stretched in between. Could've been better.

I was really irritated when Devastator got smoked by a single hit from a frigging railgun. Where the hell did the railgun came from? Like, we were not told that there was a railgun earlier in the movie, and then just like that Simmons summoned the railgun and killed Devastator. it's like a frigging plot device(well it is).

Laughed real hard when in the museum, Leo made a diversion and stunned himself. Also, when Simmons is directly under Devastator, and reported,"I'm at the scrotum".

Overall the movie is passable.

I wonder, if this movie is made in Malaysia using local vehicles, how would it turn out? I can only imagine several things...

Rempitbots - swarms of suicidal bikebots that are loud and useless.Something like Arcees, but more forgettable. Alt modes - motor kapchai.
Trasher - Token Autobot. Very pessimistic. Prone to puking on others. Alt mode - Lori Sampah (trash truck).
Distort - alt mode Nuri helicopter. Older than Jetfire, less reliable and more prone to crashing, especially in alt mode.
Proton Prime - Sub-sub-sub leader of the local Autobots. Low self esteem due to high expectations from his peers while being physically and mentally crappy. Alt mode Proton Perdana.
Heavy Toll - Greedy Decepticon. Blackmails everyone just for the heck of it. Alt mode - toll booth.
Heavyside - Opportunistic Decepticon. Takes advantages of others' misfortune, be them friend or foe. Alt mode - tow truck.

When last movie was out, I have a more serious suggestion

Optimus Prime - transformed into a Hicom Perkasa MTB 150 DXL Super Commando (our largest national truck)
Ironhide - transformed into a Proton Arena (our local pickup)
Ratchet - transformed into a Proton Juara (Bulan Sabit Merah Style)
Jazz - transformed into Lotus Elise (Proton Putra is another choice but not so good looking for Jazz)
Bumblebee - transformed into an old Proton Satria initially before evolving into Proton Satria Neo GTi Concept

now with new characters added:

Sideswipe - could transform into a Lotus Europa-S (or same car with the Proton Ultimate Concept as name?)
Arcee - 3 modenas or naza motors
Twins - Myvi SE and Zerokit Savvy (or a smaller choice is Kelisa and Kancil)
Jolt - I dono, Gen2 perhaps??
Jetfire - we have a national plane, remember? The Eagle Aircraft 150B

Ooo...I'm just diong this for fun, but if you wanna get serious by all means please do...

Continuing on local Transformers, now with non-vehicles...

Cleanser - Honourable Autobot. Strongly against playing dirty. Alt mode Singer washing machine.
Splurge - Decepticon's resident chemist expert. Very crazy. Alt mode Yeo's vending machine.

I mentioned this in my review on my blog, but I'm raising it here, just to see what you guys think.

This is not a Transformers movie.

Remember Transformers? G1, or Beast Wars, or Armada, or any of the cartoons? Who were the characters? The robots. Who were the heroes? Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, etc. Who were the villains? Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, etc.

Who's the hero of this movie? Shia LaBeouf. Who is Bumblebee? He's the hero's car. Who is Megatron? Second fiddle to another robot. Who is Starscream? A robot who has a little more screen time than the others. Who is Optimus Prime? A hunk of metal for LaBeouf to stick a Plot Device into.

The robots are not characters. They're MacGuffins.

So no, this is not a Transformers movie. This is a Shia-LaBeouf-Megan-Fox-and-some-giant-robots movie.

And because I realized this, I managed to enjoy it.  biggrin.gif

Actually i think the human characters are integral to the storyline. After all, the robots are fighting each other not on Cybertron, which is their home planet, but on Earth, where humans rule. Ultimately, they're bound to make contact with some of them, since even in disguise, it's hard to really keep themselves secret. If they wage an all-out war (which they did in ROTF), it's gonna involve not just them Deceps and Autos, but humans as well.

That being said, I still agree that Shia, Megan, Lennox and company stole the limelight too many times in the movie.

More on TF:ROTF(or was it ROLF?)....

Consistency errors: When Sam and company, the twins and Bee were teleported by Jetfire, they ended up in somewhere in Egypt. Later, they drove all da way to Giza, where the pyramids are. Figuring out what the clue pointed to, they went to the other ancient ruins, which is in Petra, Jordan. By driving. Later, they went back to Egypt, also by driving.

How the hell can you go from Egypt to Jordan and then Egypt back in a small amount of time simply by driving? Last I checked they only spent a single night in Egypt when they arrived there, before going to petra the next day.

And how come when the Americans start showing up and battling the Deceps in Egypt, there are no signs of the local Egyptian army? Everywhere it's just the Americans and more Americans. Granted, some Egyptian helicopters arrived to help Leo and Simmons and got shot down, but ho about the main battle.

Sorry for the rant, but I need to release a bit. yeah, I'm cool now.

There are heaps of consistency problems in the movie.

Thats why i say you should just turn off your brain and watch.

Kinda too late for that, but thanks anyhow.

ROTF means Roll On The Floor?

they were in jordan, not egypt when the final battle was on... the command centre asked for a clearance from the jordanian or something like that and the jordanian forces sent some puny helicopters

Oh. Makes sense now. Still, the sight of ungodly amount of American forces on foreign land practically blowing up stuff and destroying things does send a worrying message. It's like they're saying,"Mess with America, get screwed sideways".
