Watched it earlier and all I gotta to say is this: DON'T BELIEVE THE CRITICISMS!

RT and co. has always been rough towards Bay's films since like, The Rock, and I have to say their sense don't apply to the general audience of this country. rclxms.gif In every Megan Fox and transformation scene there is alot of hoo-haa going on in the cinema and the "WoooooooH!" cheer somehow annoyed me. Comedic relief as usual was lame, just like the first movie and the best I could was to crack a smile, But I believe alot of people would be entertained, especially teenagers. smile.gif

TF1: 7/10
TF2: 6.5/10

So teenagers are the standard and not the critics? laugh.gif

Considering the fact that there are more 18yr old lurking here than the likes of Roger Ebert.. yeah, I guess. They are the standards here on lowyat.

And the fact that there are some that believe in professional critics so blindly they can't even have their own opinion on a movie. Not pointing fingers on anyone here. Peace smile.gif

First of all, have you ever seen Uwe Boll's movie adaptations? There are no "explosions & boobs" in his horrible crap as compared to the abundances found in Transformers, which personally I consider as redeeming qualities for a no-brainer hollywood action flick. Hell, I didn't enjoy TF2 as much as I expected it to be but what the heck is going on here?

If there is some fanboys going on around this discussion I'd happily hop up the bandwagon of "superior-movie-taste" but you guys are really one amusing bunch. Over the past few pages I can sense the aura of elitist and hate from a mile away and there's not even one fanboy spicing up this topic anymore. This is getting old.

there's explosions and (some) nudity in the trailers themselves.

Again, I believe you haven't seen those movies yourself or you didn't get my point. Example, people typically go to his movies because they're fans of the video game franchise and even they already know it's going to flop. Same goes to Transformers. Some go for the "Michael Bay Experience" aka 24/7 explosions and others... well you already guessed it.

(Un)fortunately I've had the gruesome experience of sitting through some of his video game adaptations and none of it has the amount of tease Michael Bay gave us using Megan Fox. Slow-mo running anyone? Explosions - not even close.

They're both bad directors but definitely not the same.

Come on. Bad movie is bad movie. You don't have to be elitist to sense the aura of bad movies miles away ....  whistling.gif

The fanboy cannot spice up this thread because there's nothing there to spice up  laugh.gif It's not only brainless movie. It's
sucky, crappy and shitty brainless movie.  yawn.gif

Transformers was one hell of a horrible film as well if you take everything into consideration of what makes a good film. It was brainless, loud, plot holes everywhere and dialogues filled with rampant stupidity. But visually, it's a CGI beast and it was entertaining as hell.

So it baffles me why the fans of the 1st film are bashing the sequel for being too loud, too long, too stupid, while the first film strikes some very similar resemblance towards the criticism. Someone above me even said Transformers 1 was a smart film. How smart can a Michael Bay film be? =/

I always know what to expect from Michael Bay and I guess the typical malaysian audience expect otherwise from a director whose career was built upon teenage popcorn action flicks. That's right, I've said it.

Now I'm going to have to put my flame-resistance suit on just in case. icon_rolleyes.gif
