yup i too think the pretender is a fanservice instead. Does not polish the movie plot at all... better if they focus on Arcee or sumthing

So you do agree this is full of plothole, lame joke and brainless flick.
*
i did mention i enjoy it with robot pwn robot and megan fox in it ... i dun expect it to be super serious or anything beyond that. Lame jokes or not i still gonna laid back and have a good laugh. The more complicated you ellaborate the movie, the more harder you to digest it. lol

and bro, try not to brand audience like that. Cuz it misleads...

Arcee's initial sketching was to have all 3 bikes to combine and transform into a full version Arcee with legs. But idea was taken off because he cant cramp all the story into 2hours.

for a brainless flick, it is not bad at all as what i wanted was there. It is the actions and hot gals. Plot i have covered it on novels and etc. Nimrod, the Pretender actually scanned a Barbie Doll lol.

If it is a brainless flick as agreed, just dont use too much of your brain to encrypt it. No high intelligent needed ...

well for a original attempt to link storyline that was just meant for promotional means for a toyline, people do expect a lot of intelligent and good goodies in between.
*
My bad, i apologize !!! It was actually an animatronic of Alice in a themepark. Got it mixed up !!! Ya but Alice shouldnt be that tanned too right ? lol

like i said, money have nothing to do with it. the best grossing movies arent always the best. but knowing malaysians have no taste anyway im not surprised that you are praising this movies so much.
*
Did you even read the previous posts or pages when you post this ? No one did ever mentioned this best grossing movie is at best on par of an award winning movie and the praising part is utterly rubbish. Most are giving credits to the CGi work and details while still admits that the plots are full of holes. READ up before you blindly make comments. Please dont make yourself stupid.

sorry i digress, but i have the right to express my opinion of this stupid plot less movie. and hey, let's talk about the cgi. during the robo battles i couldn't make up what the f was going on the screen. bad cgi i must say no matter how much effort they put into it.
*
Try watching it the second time then, maybe you can get a better idea on the battling scenes. Well the CGI to me is better than TF1 and i can easily comprehend what is going on for the battles. If the CGI even fail on your own standards, then Transformers really is not the suitable genre for you.

i dont need to waste my money and time so Micael bay could feel good about himself. most movies are reviewed on a one time basis anyway, if you cant get it right the first time around what gives you right to tell others to watch it again?

not suitable for me? it's not about genre, you airhead. ive seen a lot of action movies with a lot of cgi, and they look a lot better than T2.

also, a movie cannot be judge based on the CGI alone. T2 has no plot, has horrible CGI, has bad jokes, the list of negatives goes on and on. people who defend this movie are one dimensional, you cant appreciate art at all. people like you make it possible for a-holes like michael bay to produce shitty movies and the sheep of you would still watch it. no wonder hollywood is going down.

p/s bollywood will surpass hollywood in the very near future, and we can all thank airheads like you for that.
*
Well when ppl like you that appreciate art so much, why bother even watching Bays movie in the first place then ? You do notice he is critic's favourite to start off with right? Your brain should have noticed the bad reviews and yet you went to contribute to Bay. Ain you too are one of the airheads that contribute to the gross then ? Blockheads like you should have notice i never said this is a GOOD movie, did you even tried reading the previous pages as i suggested. Oh no, cause your blockhead stamped others with 'defending a good movie' and started going round and round on this.

p/s: i'll wait for that day to come too, i dont mind since more options on types of movies.

is that really your come back? hahaha lame! biggrin.gif
Yup, no point discussing since you made yourself an airhead when you watched the movie. Where you yourself has posted previously that only airheads would contribute to the movie. Validating you as one of them regardless any explaination given. Keep the explainations to yourself, i am done replying you since all you wanted is to bash and not discuss.

Here's my own opinion. Actually from TF1 and TF2 i do think that all the transformers look ugly to me. Maybe i am used to the comics and cartoon type of design. Anyone thinks the same ?

Yes. But its alright since Bay want to portray Transformers as alien. I'm not sure how would it turn out if
TF1/TF2 robot looks like the one in G1. Erm  hmm.gif
*
Lol, must admit G1 is too boxy to be in the films but the newer reincarnations from Unicron Trilogy looks good though. Look at Ironhide, his head looks like a tiger imo lol ...

Optimus and Bumble Bee is still ok, just that i dun fancy their face design. Looks weird to me lol ... But Starscream was really fugly to me, like a triangle with head, arms and legs. Although they are the bad guys (Decepticons), it is just unfair for them to have such layout.

Yaya, I also hate Starscream. Why triangle body? It looks so weird.
*
Starscream was one of the better designed Decepticons thruout many reboots. I was hoping for a decent looking Starscream during TF1 after Optimus n Autobots debuted instead we get a triangle decepticons came out of nowhere with the name Starscream. And please no tesco boxes lol ...

The reason why starscream has such body is because he is a jet plane, and the designers doesnt want him to overly tall compared to the rest of the bots. So they distribute his mass horizontally (aka wider and tri-obese)

If starcream really did transform into a humaniod upright shape, he will be much taller than Optimus and even Megatron. Kinda intimidating.
*
It doesnt necessary to be upright, the triangle part is at the wings and from my observations. They can easily hide/fold the wings to make it appealling. I was not sure in TF1 but after Jetfire debuted in TF2, i am sure they can easily design Starscream to have a better outlook which can be similar to Jetfire. But i think they stick to the badguys less appealling formula. laugh.gif

I have no problem with "the Bayformers", I admit I was quite upset with Megatron when I first saw its design but the movie(first one) completely changed my view. He was so bad ass, he IS Megatron!(love how he flicked the human away while saying, "Disgusting" or something to that effect). Actually I like all the robots in the first movie, Blackout and Brawl(confusingly, he calls himself Devastator in the movie) for instance, really stand out. There were a few good designs in the second one too.
*
Ya, at least they get the characterization of Megatron and Starscream similar to it's comic/cartoon counterparts. "Starscream! You have failed me once again!" haha epic quotation from G1 Megatron.

xin this is because Jetfire alternate mod is a SR 71 Blackbird which has a longer cockpit then the F22 Raptor thats almost triangle like. The Sr 71 makes jetfire taller so his wings are not prevalent like starscream who is shorter and has a wider wing frame.

Thanks for the pointers nimrod323, i did a clearer search and notice that the actual culprit to it's triangle like body was actually a sort of hydraulic support which was at the sides. The wings actually folded up. Imo, it would look far better if the pillar like thingie can be altered or hidden.

Looks like Protoform Starscream(Before scanning F22 Raptor) looks good. Too bad in the movies, the triangle thingie is so noticable.

Well because like nimrod describe, its a F22 Jet. Maybe Bay fold his wings and make him look like a triangle to differentiate him from Megatron. Normal userd hardly can recognize both of them because Decepts colors are similar.

Well the design is not cool at best but as long as its presentable unlike the proton juara. Im satisfied.  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
There are many alternatives to differentiate Decepticons. Most notable way is using different colour schemes, but in this movie it seems Decepticons are colour blind or plain metal colours making it even harder to differentiate. Bay manage to pull it on Constructicons on the colour scheme and it worked fine. All the autobots are colourful too lol.

As posted previously, explained that the wings were folded upwards and it was actually the side profiles of two huge 'arms' extended to his arms that make Starscream looks triangle lol. As the protoform in prequel of the movie, Starscream is spotted without the triangle thingie which looks far better.

Ya thats the point, the Decepticons were made 'not cool' in the movies and it kinda goes with the theme bad guys are ugly. Look at Devastator, much of my friends said it looks like Org Utan lol... laugh.gif

Added on July 10, 2009, 2:43 pm^ Now that maybe the explaination why some viewers have hard time digesting the battle scenes lol ... All Decepticons looks the same during battling scenes.
