I thought this was kind of a bore fest after watching Aquaman. It started off great and I really thought this would be just as good as all the reviews are saying. The main human character was good but it went downhill once they introduce the annoying family, nerdy kid, and bullies. It became the same old story again - kid has annoying parents, kid starts to bond with robot then another kid comes along and they both start to have a thing for each other and at the end both have to help the robot save the world. The good thing is that the robots and fight scenes look amazing but at the end it's still the humans who ruined what could have been an actual good Transformers movie.

Why this no IMAX ?!! doh.gif

They should have replaced "Mortal Engines" with "Bumblebee"...

From the looks of it, seems Travis Knight managed to transition to live action film really well.

I've seen "Coraline", "ParaNorman", "The Boxtrolls" as well as "Kubo and the Two String" biggrin.gif and each of them were wonderfully unique though "The Boxtrolls" was my least favorite (but still good - thanks to Ben Kingsley's phenomenal voice acting).

Fun fact, Travis Knight in one super duper rich man's son. Phil Knight, the owner of Nike.

Just watched bumblebee. Starting introduction is really really great (Seriously please make a war at cybertron using same team and director!). No crazy overused explosion more on story telling. Liking the robot design follow close to original.

That scene in the tunnel when Bee was chased by the cop reminds me of the urban legend about ghost VW at karak tunnel laugh.gif

Finally, a Transformers movie which is NOT shitty after the first 2007 movie! Bay, learn from this or just stay as a producer. Don't fucking direct anymore! Goes to show that we don't need constant explosions to make a good movie.

Watching this only this weekend due to IMAX availability @ TGV 1U... waiting patiently.

Some die-hard fans of TF say it isn't as good as M Bay's Transformers blink.gif I find it hard to believe... I'll find out soon enough

Best TF movie in terms of transformations; cleaner, more visible transformation sequence. Fights look better, you can actually see what's going on instead of a mess of shredded paper rolling around.

The best bit is in the opening sequence. The rest after that, so-so.

Thing that stood out the most, apart from the the opening sequence (or didn't stand out the most)..what napalm, Cena?

Not much explosion, don't have explosion slow motion, don't have slow motion warzone with people in distress, don't have epic USA jet flying through sky, USA army going to battle and USA flag waving scene, don't have people yelling and screaming, don't have super good (annoying) speech before fighting and after fighting.

AKA without any Micheal Bay signature moment make this new refreshment movie the best transformers movie, the opening was great, was so touching because

The 80's, the music and some scene make me feel so nostalgic and touching. And yeah, the transform and fight scene was more clear, you know what is hiting what, how the transformer die.

Overall, If you like Steven Spielberg E.T then you will love this movie. If you like explosion and fighting scene then this movie will be suck.

I love how this movie focus more on character developments -- and it works. It's better than Micheal Bay's for sure, but not in the over the top kind of way which I appreciate alot when it comes to this franchise. Best of all the actions and transformations sequence were well shot and you can see them clearly.

Highly recommended.

Back to the 80's...I miss it a lot.
Those evergreen songs wub.gif

Transformers + Herbie.
The early scene is like an intro from a video game.
Well, it's so much better to look at a girl as the lead.

Cena's ok.
Had enough of Wahlberg's 'angry bird' eyebrows lol.gif

A jet transformers plane still has the jet element when in a robot mode.

Poor Cliffjumper.

Honestly I think the writers ran out of ideas.

Here we go again.

Not directed by M Bay (again) so could be a good thing. Trailer looks cool and all but I'm still skeptical.

A nice change of direction.

Full 3D animated.

No humans.
