FYI, as adult, we don't laugh at lame/unnecessary joke unless you deserve lame joke. Which means, low quality audience deserve low
quality film.
*
That is why it has poor ratings among critics. And its rated "low quality" by many adult audience because you've said it before, lame joke/plot. But then again, thats from the adult-audience demographic. Maybe kids love it. and those kids might rate it as "better quality" .

Just because adults made proper/better decisions, doesnt mean kids does not have a say in judging a movie is good or not from their point of view. Well some adults TF fans label TF2 movie as crappy merely because its lacking some "fan element" they favored. But its their opinion and just like ours, its to each his own.

We can't satisfy everybody from all demographic.

I understand you tried to look at it as a adult perspective because you're a adult. That's rigid. Just because we are adults, do we communicate/behave like adults when treating EVERYONE,EVERYTHING?

I only put my shoes in a kid's perspective tried to see things from their point of view, and I still retain my adult-annoying-habit of nitpicking the plot (which suprised me because you don't care about my nitpicks, but you care about the poor plot, which contains some of the nitpicks smile.gif

what the.... they are aliens, its a known fact since the Takara toy making days, even before the Americans bought the whole franchise under Hasbro. They wouldnt follow G1 designs because its 2D,thats why its all boxy and stuff, If you want it to be relaistic, take prime for example you can see where the parts of the peterbilt truck is especially the engine block, tyres, exhaust pipes among other things, you cant hide all the this pipes and stuff it has to be realistic.

Hello??? Did you read my previous few comments? Don't jump in and make yourself look like a fool. Please la. Lame joke must be at the
right place. Comedian of course can have lame joke. But not in TF2. Its just not suitable and too lame.

I'm not sure why you want to use kid's perspective when we're discussing here. If you do that, you're creating unnecessary
judgement. I normally thought you guys are adult who are posting here. So I really feel disappoint when you guys are defending
such lame movie.

If you said from kids point of view the movie is nice, of course it is. Even lame joke is suitable for kids. When those lame jokes
come out, I said to myself, "Only kids will laugh".

Anyway, since you've made urself clear that this is great kiddy movie (with sexual scene laugh.gif doh.gif ) compare to TF1, I agree with you
whole-heartedly. You just said that Michael Bay made a kiddy pron tongue.gif

Optimus and Bumble Bee is still ok, just that i dun fancy their face design. Looks weird to me lol ... But Starscream was really fugly to me, like a triangle with head, arms and legs. Although they are the bad guys (Decepticons), it is just unfair for them to have such layout.

U r dead wrong. I've watched TF2 twice. In both occasions, I admit I laughed at the lame jokes, and the whole cinema (with half of them adults) laughed too. Yep, suddenly those adults are "kids".

Again, I dont know why you so "dissapointed" about. We can accept how you called its shitty, because your points and personal opinions are valid.

Why you so "emo" and felt "dissapointed" at differing opinions by some of us? Why would me, thinking in my own perspective, rated it DIFFERENTLY from yours, make you dissapointed? In the end, I dunt care if you dont enjoy it . You just bring youself more -ve feeling by being "dissapointed" and seems like hell-bent of wanting the rest of us to agree with you.

I;m just glad I enjoy the movie albeit its flaws. smile.gif

Aw. Too bad its not suitable for u. Better luck in future movies.

However, i advise u can get a fren to get a BDrip and edit away all the so-called lame jokes and see if it works for u becos the cumulative lame jokes only sums up to less than 5 min. If this caused u to have a bad movie day, i really feel sorry for u. So then, watever makes u happy will do because for me, a minor plot/lame stuff wont influence me to regard a movie as shit.

Hmm, some might say i might be unintelligent and being a poor audience. Like i give a shit. We watch movies and judge them and share the results with others. So those who havent watch it yet, save ur 2 cents pls.

And yeah, starstcream shud get a huge boxes from tesco and stick them to himself so he looks square. Not triangle.

You're the one who said its for kids.

And since you can accept that we called it shitty, i rest my case. This is because its really lame and shitty.

Enjoy it is one thing. Shitty is one thing. I think you cannot differentiate between enjoying and being critical.

FYI, I do enjoy it because I'm fan of Transformers. But that does not stop me from criticise it. If you ask me
whether I'll watch again, oh yes. But not in cinema. Probably DVD.

The important point here is you can be critical although you're fan of Transformers.

(About why adult laugh at lame joke, some people just laugh at everything. That's why low quality audience deserve
low quality joke/movie. )

Nah.. we criticize the film in its entirety. I do like to watch TF2 because I like robot and action. Just that I want to
criticize how lame is the joke and how it destroy the movie, TF2.

doh.gif Hello. Russell Peters is a stand-up comedian. His shows are one joke after another. A movie has a story told in a particular tone, and whatever jokes it throws in has to be appropriate to both.

Also, you're wrong if you think Peters' jokes are lame. His material is based on a lot of human insight, and if you can't see that then you're... exactly the kind of person I think you are. laugh.gif

You need to watch some Pixar animated films or some Hayao Miyazaki films. The best children's movies are those that even adults can appreciate. The shows that only kids like but adults don't... well, I can name a few: Teletubbies. Barney the Purple Dinosaur. Veggie Tales. laugh.gif

Well, low quality or not, thats your own point of view. and I gladly accept that POV smile.gif

Laughing is good for health. being critical is fine too, but I think I leave that to more serious matter like work/health/environment/family which involves my life in reality. As for entertainment/movies, I wont equip my "critical" ammunition and go all out in hitting the target. That is my definition of "high quality":- we make the best of what we paid for, and no matter how many flaws in the movie.. we try out very best to enjoy its +ve moments. As for TF2 ,I found myself having do so.... really overcamed its few minor lame jokes scenes, and awed at the battle scenes that lasted much longer than the lame-jokes scene.

Same like eating a durian. If you complain smelly or hurt your finger from its thorns, you can said... "low quality fruit-lover deserve low-quality fruit". You havent even bothered to reach the stage to open up that durian (after hurting yourself/stuffing your nose). Other people might enjoy eating it already. "I am dissapointed in you for eating that durian!" LOL.

btw: I'm not a fan of durian (but doesnt meant I cant be in the shoes of durian lover!). Its all about acceptance different point of view and trying to be in their shoes, regardless of durian liking/age-group.

Starscream was one of the better designed Decepticons thruout many reboots. I was hoping for a decent looking Starscream during TF1 after Optimus n Autobots debuted instead we get a triangle decepticons came out of nowhere with the name Starscream. And please no tesco boxes lol ...

The reason why starscream has such body is because he is a jet plane, and the designers doesnt want him to overly tall compared to the rest of the bots. So they distribute his mass horizontally (aka wider and tri-obese)

If starcream really did transform into a humaniod upright shape, he will be much taller than Optimus and even Megatron. Kinda intimidating.

Yeah, I also accept you view that we shouldn't be so critical over such a small matter. But the problem is, we're in a forum.
So part of forum participation is being critical. Else, everyone will be singing praise to TF2... laugh.gif

In the durian example, you're actually agree that low quality audience deserve low quality film. If you don't bother to open the durian (which
in this case to be critical and send signal to Bay), you won't be enjoying the durian (better quality film).

Conclusion:- Low quality audience deserve low quality film

It doesnt necessary to be upright, the triangle part is at the wings and from my observations. They can easily hide/fold the wings to make it appealling. I was not sure in TF1 but after Jetfire debuted in TF2, i am sure they can easily design Starscream to have a better outlook which can be similar to Jetfire. But i think they stick to the badguys less appealling formula. laugh.gif

I have no problem with "the Bayformers", I admit I was quite upset with Megatron when I first saw its design but the movie(first one) completely changed my view. He was so bad ass, he IS Megatron!(love how he flicked the human away while saying, "Disgusting" or something to that effect). Actually I like all the robots in the first movie, Blackout and Brawl(confusingly, he calls himself Devastator in the movie) for instance, really stand out. There were a few good designs in the second one too.

Ya, at least they get the characterization of Megatron and Starscream similar to it's comic/cartoon counterparts. "Starscream! You have failed me once again!" haha epic quotation from G1 Megatron.

Some people hate the fact that Megatron bow to Fallen. For example in cartoon movie Transformers, megatron don't want to bow to Unicron
but only do so because he's at the mercy of Unicron.

xin this is because Jetfire alternate mod is a SR 71 Blackbird which has a longer cockpit then the F22 Raptor thats almost triangle like. The Sr 71 makes jetfire taller so his wings are not prevalent like starscream who is shorter and has a wider wing frame.

you can see the wing reachers till the pilot cockpit.

the wing is towards the end near the primary engine.

i know its hard to grasp what im saying so please try to digest it one word at a time eh? He made a general assumption that:

This is like saying as adults you cant play with toys anymore, which is an assumption that doenst make you the least bit less adult if you still wish to play with toys.If you cant see this is an act of generalization, i dont know what to say. So i replied by saying that if the given assumption above is true then any form of lame/unnecessary joke that exists elsewhere say for example like comedians materials and in this example russel peters comedic material, people who are generally adult shouldnt laugh at it.

Thanks for the pointers nimrod323, i did a clearer search and notice that the actual culprit to it's triangle like body was actually a sort of hydraulic support which was at the sides. The wings actually folded up. Imo, it would look far better if the pillar like thingie can be altered or hidden.

just re-watch TF1 (long time no see la this film) but i saw it half only (dvd calar daaa) but wowh! damn nice introductions, superb actions, very memorable to me than TF2.

im planning to see full TF1 again. damn, i only see it for once (bad ahem quality back at the 2007). still, i can consider TF1 as a smart film, still far away from perfect but, i hardly loved it. but when it comes to TF2, meh. actions and actions and actions all over again
