QUOTE(Spoodo @ Jun 8 2009, 05:26 PM) comparing the prices to EUR and Aus PSN, we're just a couple of ringgit more. we dont hear them complaining. Finally Sony has delivered the Playstation Store to Malaysia. It shows that we're an important market to them. Maybe for now, the prices will be expensive, and even if it's brought down, many will complain that it will be expensive. We can never compare it to US PSN prices, nor prices there in general. For USD$50k i can get myself a BMW M3, here i can only get a camry 2 litre, do we hear anyone complaining? we should be glad we finally have our own playstation store and keep ourselves up to date with the DLCs. we are indeed grateful for our own mypsn, but we can live without it. since the launch 20/sept/2008 we were already leeching from our neighbor or us. what's the significance of having our very own psn store when the price itself is such a torture? us psn cards are freely available via lyn. i would personally prefer to buy from sgpsn, with the usage of cc + direct convertion, bypassing psn card. GT5P here cost a whopping rm189.50, while our next door neighbor happily enjoying it at $59.99. yes, it's only a mere few rm extra, but still, it doesn't make any difference to us who are already buying from sgpsn all the while. in fact, you might have noticed that our "asia" psn updates and contents are the same. sg = hk = my |

QUOTE(nwk @ Jun 8 2009, 09:22 PM) i have asked someone before from sony style at the curve why their game prices are so high. he told me that sony have to pay government tax on every game they bring in. so that's the reason why their game price is high and that is probably also why their price on psn is also high. i remember when i bought my ps3 during the launch 20/sept (i queued up at 3am) the sony big head said currently in nego with our msia government to exempt tax payment for EVERY ps3 software to promote ori games.so far no news.................stupid promises. |

I received a reply from Sony, now that was quick.
Thank you for your e-mail and interest in PS products. Please be informed that each region would have different market situations and it does not mean that Malaysia will have the equivalent price that of Singapore. A lot of factors like laws and policies would affect this price setting. Even if you tally prices from other regions like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, the prices will all differ, based on that region's market situation. They do not have the exact equivalent amounts even if after conversion. However, we thank you for your feedback and we will forward this to our related department for evaluation and possible future product improvement. For updated information regarding our PS products, please feel free to browse our web site at http://asia.playstation.com/my/en. QUOTE(MasterAlvin @ Jun 9 2009, 12:30 AM) isnt FF7 international comes with both languages? i don't think the facts are right. if you really own ff8 and ff10, you would have noticed that ff8 has no voiceovers.i used to have FF8 and FF10 international and both of them can change to english. i prefer Jap voice over though, the quality is just way above. ff10 international is fully in english, japanese text. QUOTE(shadow_gouken @ Jun 9 2009, 12:36 AM) Malaysian in general still perceive gaming industry as kid stuff. But we can't blame general public. It is SONY fault that lack initiative to promote/advertise gaming. How many times hv u seen a tv ad for any video game in Malaysia? In the US, SONY advertise during super bowl, the most expensive advertising airtime. if our gov can even consider building a circuit for our rempit, why can't they build a centre for piracy hub??The Gov also at fault. Gov state full fledged war against piracy, saying how ruthless and violence the pirate DVD/CD sellers are. But do nothing to promote buying/owning original DVD/CD. IMHO Gov hate piracy not bcoz pressure from commercial companies. It is bcoz they can't tax the pirate DVD/CD seller This post has been edited by Zeliard: Jun 9 2009, 12:40 AM |
