dunno why people are blaming malaysia since all the pricing are set by sony...hmmm hmm.gif

for me the price are quite reasonable, but the problem lies within the language selections, i prefer them to use english rather than chineese or japanese..

IMHO, sony had to set high price because they have to cover the cost of providing facilities and services to make PSN store available in malaysia, i say given the time and amount of support by local gamers, things will be cheaper.

when i see people complaint about the price, i see people who dont know the real reason behind it, they just compare everything with US or SG PSN store price, which is wrong. Because SG and US already had their PSN store for a long time already, and they already have the existing market for their PSN store, services and facilities already established and improved throughout the time, thats why they can offer more games with cheaper price.

If sony simply put low price and a lot of games for malaysia PSN store from the start but the number of people who actually buys are less, bankrap la.... laugh.gif

They need to test the market first, and slowly improve it from that point. So please, dont be pessimistic people...support our local PSN.. thumbup.gif

this is malaysia. you expect those uneducated buffons to know anything about marketing? if they did their homework, the ps3 would have launched the same time as singapore and the local psn store would have the ability to use credit cards as payment by now.
*
the ones who are planning the marketing strategy for malaysia market are sony, u called sony employers uneducated? u're dead wrong..
Sony delayed their launch in Malaysia because they need to do a deeper marketing research in order to bring the console to malaysia, since PS2 didnt officially launched in malaysia, they dont have a strong marketing base for malaysian market.

unlike Sg or US, obviously they already know how the market goes, thats why they can launch the console right away...

I would say they have a problem with their business strategy, not marketing. They do know how to make some hype.. like the launch of ps3. but problem is... their strategy suck you know what i mean?

they do all that.. but have limited stocks of PS3 during launch

they do all this.. but you can't pay by credit card.
it seems their supply is so limited they can't keep up with their marketing and obviously its either a failure with their plan on strategy or execution of their strategy. If they can't supply to demand then don't make the announcement that they are releasing. ruin their own image.

hope they see this. because i think they still haven't notice wats wrong so far.. no wonder Xbox 360 beats them worldwide.
*
as far as i remember Microsoft didnt even bother about malaysian market, and u are dead wrong about sony unable to keep with the demand, cause CURRENTLY u can practically buy a PS3 in any game shop/sony shop in malaysia.

About the credit card thingy, they do this because of the current economy crisis, and during these situations, most people will reduce their credit card expenditure due to shortage of income and to adjust their expenditure during these dire situations...

its easy to see people who dont know anything about business and marketing and yet they comment as if they know it all... laugh.gif

People complain of no PSN Cards because its no where to be found other than the first guy who went to the MV event and get it after asking about it specifically. If the cards were distributed to most retailers and ready before the launch, people wouldn't make a fuss of it. Take PS3 games for example, they would have shipped them to the retailers before the official launch date (also considering the fact PSN Cards are the ONLY way to top up credits). Anyway you need check your facts before slamming..

On your second comment... yes.. CURRENTLY we can practically buy a PS3 in any shop in Malaysia but i guess you are a bit lost here... we are talking about the availability of product during launch... not AFTER launch. Everyone can get their product ready months after launch. your answer doesn't prove a point. Anyway please check your facts again on the availability of PS3 during the first few days after the launch... is it available in any game shop/sony shop in malaysia?

Having an option to pay by credit card doesn't force everyone to pay by credit card, its a way to do business by providing their customers with more options to make purchases no? (so should everyone stop offering Credit Card purchase now?). I am no businessman or a person who analyses the market but just a simple.. consumer smile.gif You could say we don't know anything bout business and marketing but i can clearly see there is a pretty hopeless person here trying to understand whats needed by a consumer.

Are you a sony employee ? sounds like you would like to slam at any negative remarks people make here in this thread as if you know everything thats happening.  grow up
Please don't judge other people if you don't want them to judge you.

FIRST: im a college student, not a sony employee. Do i speak like a working people? that means im well on my way towards employability laugh.gif

Second: when u talk about product availability during launch, it is ridiculous to overstock ur products during the launch event, since the cost of the event itself will increase just because of stocking tongue.gif .. i dont need to check my facts or whatsoever, since some people here wont understand why there is shortage or why business need time to make a product available, they just complaint why it is too late, why it is not available and no patience at all. Oh, i buy my Ps3 console before the official PS3 launch, so u still wanna complaint about product availability?

Third: No body are saying that sony is going to stick with its no credit card payments ohmy.gif , what im trying to say is that currently it might not be advisable because of current economy status, where people are using less of their credit cards(get it??) Plus, do you think they can simply make credit card option to be available without putting more money on credit card service?? and then not enough customers use it to cover the cost of running the system?? ohmy.gif

Maybe MY PSN will have Credit Card payment in the future, we'll never know.. The thing is, some people here cant appreciate what Sony has done for the malaysian console gamers, this is the first time where a console developer ever taken notice of malaysian console market, and MY PSN launch should be a positive mark for malaysian gaming industry.

Fourth:U cant compare availability of PSN card with the availability of PS3 games in malaysia, since MY PSN card are only for MY PSN, which requires them to wait for official launch of MY PSN before selling stuff, again i dont need to check my facts, it is actually a basic for business people to check the market first before selling it blindly, sure malaysia may get later launch date and whatnot, but what im trying to say is that give them a chance..dont simply complain this and that without knowing the real reason behind it.

Fifth: The reason why im trying to correct those who give negative comments is that they always say we get this problem because this is malaysia, or malaysian people are slow to make it available , which to me are all pessimist comments. doh.gif . Praising other country advantages wont get you nowhere unless u support your own country. EVEN NOW, when sony actually launch MY PSN, they still complain doh.gif , sure the prices are expensive, but at least we have our own MY PSN..why not support it? and make it grow? show to Sony that malaysian gamers support these services, and not take it for granted. icon_idea.gif

please, gamers, be positive, support our local gaming industry, give constructive comments and not comments that puts our people to shame like comments that shows that malaysian people are pessimist and not supportive..i think we're lucky to even see official MY PSN launch during these dire Economy crisis, since most companies nowadays are trying to save cost by firing workers and closing departments..

*too much haters, no supporters, if this thing keeps on going, i wont be shocked if they decided to close MY PSN in the future*
