I received a reply from Sony, now that was quick.

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in PS products.

Please be informed that each region would have different market
situations and it does not mean that Malaysia will have the
equivalent price that of Singapore.  A lot of factors like laws and
policies would affect this price setting.  Even if you tally prices
from other regions like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, the prices
will all differ, based on that region's market situation.  They do
not have the exact equivalent amounts even if after conversion.

However, we thank you for your feedback and we will forward this to
our related department for evaluation and possible future product
improvement.

Malaysian in general still perceive gaming industry as kid stuff. But we can't blame general public. It is SONY fault that lack initiative to promote/advertise gaming. How many times hv u seen a tv ad for any video game in Malaysia? In the US, SONY advertise during super bowl, the most expensive advertising airtime.

The Gov also at fault. Gov state full fledged war against piracy, saying how ruthless and violence the pirate DVD/CD sellers are. But do nothing to promote buying/owning original DVD/CD. IMHO Gov hate piracy not bcoz pressure from commercial companies. It is bcoz they can't tax the pirate DVD/CD seller biggrin.gif

isnt FF7 international comes with both languages?
i used to have FF8 and FF10 international and both of them can change to english.

i prefer Jap voice over though, the quality is just way above.
*
i don't think the facts are right. if you really own ff8 and ff10, you would have noticed that ff8 has no voiceovers.
ff10 international is fully in english, japanese text.

if government promote original games and movies and dont tax it, you think those PS3 games still in 3 figures? maybe within RM100 can buy already, if we can add maybe another RM10 or RM20 to get a original HD DVD movie or BD movie, i bet many people will brought original instead of pirated.

hey wait.....THIS IS MALAYSIA!!!!

The Japanese games are meant to Japanese users.
They may or may not be English version of the game available.

They just open the Japanese games section up to allow other users to purchase ahead of time -
and yes, you're expected to know some Japanese if you want to play the latest stuff being released over there.

Again these releases are meant for those 'otaku' type who wants the latest of everything.. tongue.gif

This has nothing to do with Sony MY.

More like it has to do with SCEA.
All Asian provinces are to adhere the content of Asia, which is NTSC-J. This has been so since the days of the PS1. The policy hasn't changed.

Lawsuits up the ass if we see PAL or NTSC-UC content on any of the Asian stores here ya' know... laugh.gif

I think you mean Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong Limited. Not SCEA. That one is for America.

I've seen it for dual use.

SCEA = Sony Computer Entertainment America (more common)

SCEA = Sony Computer Entertainment Asia (less common)

I believe SSBen meant the latter, ie. Asia.

Sometimes, I also confused by Sony marketing.. they lumped Asia into a central area.
covers 6 countries: HK, TW, SG, TH, SG, KR

Japan being the motherland is unique of course - SCE Japan. biggrin.gif

furthermore, it's the best time to test out PS1 games on PS3 with the best game. even if u able to get original FF7 game disc, it would be in NTSC-J.so this english PSN FF7 is kinda good. laugh.gif
