and the flops of the season

Gomes

Mikael Silvestre
Bassong<<
Collocini << both newcastle buys sucked major balls, conceding really amateurish goals throughout the season. maybe thats why they are relegated

Jimmy Bullard <---- injured after 30 mins of football tongue.gif
Downing
Joey Barton <---- came to Newcastle and promised to be sober, but had been bailed and have lots of on and off pitch troubles
Geovanni <--- after a bright start and high expectations, managed only couple of goals in 2009.

Alfonso Alves
Roque Santa Cruz
Micheal Owen <----- not many mention about him, everyone was talking bout how he could save their relegation troubles, in the end not even 10 goals in a season

I would say geovanni did well for his first season. His goals were superb, especially the one vs. Arsenal. Just that Phil Brown is a prick. After the row, he rarely played geo and geo was of course, frustrated and didn't want to deliver either. Especially after the "dressing room" talk on the pitch. Stupid move by a stupid man.

haha. he had a bright start, very poor midseason and even worse ending.
yeah phil was a retard, i mean you buy Bullard and a couple of players when you already have Geo in that position, i mean wth? it would disrupt my form for sure

nice list of flops for this season there, mate. haha

well, personally, m suprise with some of the names listed as best 11 out of top 4, well, it can be argued in many ways, cuz its not stated just for this season right ? haha, robinho ? come on, he was there on and off the whole season, n so many of u guys picking him ? becuz of this status ? hmm, no offence guys... just i disagreee wink.gif

Away goal drought for a couple of months, i don't think robinho is good enough for my top 11 outside of the top 4. No doubt, he's a player of skill but his inconsistency really makes him undependable and who could forget the "shuffle" penalty miss?
This season really proved that big names don't mean anything if they can produce. The likes of Darren Bent, Roque Santa Cruz, Robinho, Alfonso Alves (15m allows him to be called a big name), Bently shows that you can spend 30m, 40m or even 80m tongue.gif but it doesn't 100% mean you'll get that value.
I dare say myself, players such as Tuncay, Schwazer, Rory Delap, Ricardo Fuller, Hangeland may not be what people consider a "big name" but they have impressed me more than most of the big names.

The lack of mention of Tim Cahill is disturbing tongue.gif
Together with Fellaini, both of them dragged Everton through the season without having strikers.

How come there's no James Milner?? What about Jonás Gutiérrez, he's not that bad, just in the wrong team..
