He liked this other girl, but for whatever reason couldn't get her. So he's using you as his spare tyre. Only thing is, he wishes you were more like her. He wishes you were exactly like her. So all his frustration at not getting her, he's taking it out on you. He's trying to turn you into her.
Your interests, your feelings, your very personality... all of these mean nothing to him. You are not a person to him. You are only a substitute for her.
