Sounds like your bf is insecure. Probably after he left you the first time he felt really depressed and decided that he couldn't live without you so this time around he's being extra nice and caring to u. But if u don't want him to be controlling u need to come to a compromise with him. Sit him down and talk about what he wants from you and whether you can accept it. I remember my first gf I told her that I want her to miss call me everytime she reaches home so I know she is home safe. Some ppl might intepret that as being overly controlling but at that time I felt i was looking out for her. So talk with him and find out what he wants and what you can accept and come to a compromise.
