Lags been getting bad lately and I happened to find something very useful. It turns out that Australians have these kind of problems before and they resort to proxy servers to reduce their ping / lag. I found a free one (At the moment) and its very effective which I tested just now. (From dead on continous lag to smooth without problems) Give this a try!

Yes,  I'm personally interested to look how far Day[9] can go. He's really a strategy person and SC2, is much less a mechanical game now, so he should excel theoretically.
Also, why the heck did they pair him with his brother? Its bad enough they are brothers, worse when you start with 2 random players facing each other in RO16.

Cheese list:

Zerg: 6 pool Zergling rush, baneling rush

protoss: proxy pylon rush, mothership rush

terran: reaper rush, bunker rush, proxy barracks, thor rush etc...

terran has a lot of rushing options... -.-

protoss players, wan to know how u against terran's BC?

true they are T1 but u forgot one thing...
for reapers to be effective, they have to be fast (around 10racks 11gas) which put u behind the worker count (minerals on buildings instead of quick SCV and SCV mining gas to be used on ur reapers) thus ur economy...
u gotta hope ur reaper does more than how ur investment...
having a reaper to kill a probe -> bad investment as u are not crippling his economy at all...
u can transition into MMMs but u have already lost so much momentum that ur opponent at this point (need to start building rax when ur resources was used for the first 2-3 reapers) could out macro u and steamroll you...
the whole reaper opening is too easy to counter now once they have scouted u...

Thanks for this. It seems to help improve the latency a lot and make it playable. I have the beta for like 2 weeks and didn't play any online games because of lag but though I'm still with around 250 ms ping i guess connecting to the US server but I'm on the Europe server.

I connect to the Us west coast n play on a europe server, not really sure how the battle ping works but kinda felt the same latency in game though it was definitely higher ping connecting to the europe server than the us server.

If anyone is on europe server, add me up , protosssc.david

actually jinro(tl.frozenarbiter) did explore the concept of walling at ramp vs walling at ur mineral over at the TL forum...
and i've agreed with his approach of walling the mineral line especially if u are a protoss...

I will be getting my new PC soon, does any1 knows if i could just transfer the whole SC2 beta folder to my new hard disk and start to play without downloading + patching again? I know this works on WoW.
