It's a trademark of Blizzard (go for the masses!!). Plus, having a so-so graphic engine but offers great gameplay always sells the game. Some thoughts about Terran:
- Marauders are a must have unit since their grenade unit can snare (slow down) any unit except Massive unit - which means Ultralisk, Colossus and Thor. Also useful while fighting armored units.
- Bunker can be recycled now. No more wasted mineral.
- Initialy I am skeptic about MedEvac. But now it seems a wise choice because units can be easily transpot and get heal while dropping into a hot zone (with SCV's auto cast repair, it's even handy).
- 2 upgrades of Command Center offer different strategy value. As a Planetary fortress, it's essentialy a giant cannon platform with huge hitpoint. As a Orbital command, it acts as an support building which can build MULE and increase the supply of a supply depot <-- another way to save minerals while increasing population cap. Also during tier-3 stage of the game, I found myself building more Command Center than Supply depot.
- MULE! Although they are temporary unit, they harvest more minerals compare to SCV (30 minerals per trip vs. 5 minerals per trip). I found myself keep building MULE at tier-3 stage to sustain the massive mineral requirements of armored units like Thor and Siege Tank.
- Marines with Combat shield overcomes the cons of having low hit-point. Which mean they can hit with up to 4 stimpack now.
- The biggest change of Terran Infantry is Ghost, imo. They have 100 hitpoints now, high damage versus light armor unit, can snipe now, and can call down nukes which doesn't eat up the population cap
- Barrack with Nuclear Reactor in early game can be deadly since 2 marines can be trained now simultaneously, handy to counter early zerg rush.
