rationale people knew that it was only a matter of time before MGS came to the 360. konami doesnt belong to sony and it needs to go multiplatform to make (more) money. only fanbois cannot see that.

i'm not surprised if any of the xbox exclusives (halo, gears of war, etc) go multiplatform in the further too. in fact i expect it to happen sooner or later. it just doesnt make good business sense to stay exclusive to any platform in this day and age.

Losing Metal Gear series to say Nintendo DS or even the Wii, is not the same as losing it to Xbox 360. Not at all. Xbox and PS have always fought in the same market space.

Unlike Nintendo, with Wii which have gone in a completely different direction in terms of market tapped (kudos to them for that, just see their sales), Microsoft stuck to their guns and hounded Sony, with exclusives, and clear display or superiority in graphic prowress. Microsoft showed that what PS3 can do, they can match, or even raise the bar. (seriously, all the talk of only using partial full ability etc etc, i often ask myself when these guys are going to just admit that the PS3 just simply extremely inaccessible and difficult to work with as a game programmer)

MGS is more than just a game really. It's a symbol for PS3. Losing this to Microsoft is tantamount to brand dilution for Sony. Some may find this as an 'emo fanboi' perspective, but ask any professional brand consultant, and they will tell you the same!

Well thats why you should always have both platform to avoid fanboys. ( I don't have a nintendo wii, and I guess you don't need 1 now? )
