I got into the beta. The weekend beta will begin at 3am, Saturday. I will post up the latency results when the beta ends.
Downloading of client was really fast. Started slow due to the heavy load and later speed goes up to 104kb/s with 60.50 IP (1Mbps). Compressed @ 5.3GB. 7.38GB after install.

Aion is more on its own. Its Quest driven + grind at later levels with epic RvR battles be it on land and air. I cant comment more since nothing can be judge just by watching gameplay videos.

Some initial feedback. Server is at peak so the latency is quite obvious. Currently i am getting 400 ~ 520ms with 118.100 IP range. Since its early morning at the moment, i will login again at later time, around 9pm+
Gameplay overall is fun, well for a change, they defined the classes as it should be. The interface from my first impression, it have some similarities with Rappelz but what makes Aion shine is their skill chain.

QUOTE(onscreen @ Jun 6 2009, 08:30 PM) NA/EU is free to play at beta stage and will be $15/month when the game goes live. I am going to login to game now with 60.49 IP range. Will be back with the latency result Got to lvl 11 and the latency in 60.49 is slightly better but the rubberband effect isnt that frequent. Ping reading goes from 398ms to 440ms. Good news is, grinding will be really easy and the cap level is currently at 45. There will be surely a leveling race in NA server as lots of guild is claiming themselves as hardcore. The flying... oh its soooooooo nice

QUOTE(Charkoteow @ Jun 7 2009, 03:09 AM) wait2.. im lost after post #5.. how to play this game again? are the keys still being given out? No more. Keys wont be given out again. Unless you are very lucky that you earned yourself the complete Closed Beta key. Added on June 7, 2009, 11:49 amQUOTE(Zepx @ Jun 7 2009, 08:58 AM) u will be able tol play tis game on the 9th. Today is the last day for open beta. it's only a two day obt. Its not even a Open Beta. Its just a preview, an alpha release of the client with crappy translations. Stated is Sunday 12am. So most likely it will be today 3pm is the last day. This post has been edited by onscreen: Jun 7 2009, 11:49 AM

QUOTE(ChcGamer @ Jun 7 2009, 12:14 PM) You can feel almost no delay in every action you do when its below 100ms I'll compare it with my 2 most recent MMORPG which is WoW and WAR. In WAR i get almost 200ms and i can feel some delay and it interrupts my healing order as a healer. Not to mention when i'm running when enemies i see them few feet away from me but actually they just beside me. So in my screen i'm seeing them melee attacking me from few feet away. I dont see this happen when i'm in Aion because of less lag Comparing to WoW, i can feel an even bigger difference. Similar like the example above as i play a shaman, i will give one of the shaman skill example. A Mage is casting polymorph on me and i cast Earth Shock which is a skill to interrupt before he completes his Polymorph. In my screen, i still turn into a sheep even i casted my spell when it should had interrupted his. However, in Aion if i were to interrupt someone spell with stun it will be 100% successful Added on June 7, 2009, 12:15 pmWhats the server IP? We can try ping it 116.211.29.1 is the IP for the one i'm playing at 216.107.243.35 Currently i am still in game so the latency reading is around 490ms. So far only delay i suffered is the rubberbanding effect when i run around. Combat, skill casting is smooth.

There will be NO IP block to any of the servers. You can go into ANY of the Aion servers. SEA Aion server have yet to be announce so most likely you will get the confirmation early next year. You can play in Korea server but you need KSSN to register You can play in CN server but you need an adult ID to bypass the 5 hour restriction You can play in NA/EU server without any restrictions IMO, the lag isnt that obvious when the zone was packed with players while i am on the worst ISP ever known. Only delays i suffer is the rubberband effect when i run. The auto attack stops after a skill cast so you have to hit the normal attack again to resume. There is no loot lag even. I have just leveled myself close to the beta cap of lvl 20. What i like best, i mean have the sense of originality is Priest and Warrior classes. The Caster class like spiritmaster appeals me too.

QUOTE(skynet_V2 @ Jun 9 2009, 01:23 PM) SEA will release Aion? is that mean Asiasoft will be the provider? No one knows. SEA publishers have to make proposal and NCSoft will select one of the many for the provider. Its a matter of time now. Added on June 9, 2009, 1:44 pmQUOTE(ChcGamer @ Jun 9 2009, 01:18 PM) I dont know lol It depends on your server and population. Weaker side as in have less players or capable to capture PvP objectives in abyss such as fort and artifacts I wouldnt call it a weaker side and mostly it wont likely to happen in NA/EU servers. Western gamers are crazy anime lovers and Elyos is speculated to be more than Asmodian in many ways. Rumor floating that if you want to have fun play, go Asmodian in NA servers as it will be less drama. Still, its up to you on which side you want to go for and you cannot trust rumors, the future changes rapidly Underdog faction will lead to less inter-faction race and challenge so every legion will have their turn for Abyss tower / artifact control. Too many players will end up elite legions hogging specific captures leaving others no opportunities in the fun and that lead to whine and cries and ended with drama and hate. QUOTE(Crescendo MY @ Jun 10 2009, 04:51 PM) yeah, the next beta is on 19th. its to test the Asmodian side, from lvl 1 - 10 , not sure if that will be a beta preview or not. but those who preorder and got their beta keys can play. Most likely we will miss out the next preview since there is no respond on pre-order Aion locally.

Its unlikely we will get NA Aion on sale here unless you get it from third party like OCDKey.com
Personally i cant trust them but many claimed they delivered what they promise. They are selling Aion pre-sale key for USD7.99 . $2 cheaper than pre-ordering from Gamestop.
100ms and 350ms isnt obvious in latency. The obvious is from 460ms and above. I once hit 600ms and everything is slow, from normal hit to looting to flying. Again, i got all my latency reading from the performance monitor in Windows 7.

QUOTE(adarkar @ Jun 25 2009, 02:30 AM) Are you sure of this? can u link some kind of official info? That you can pay with Visa Electron that is. Personal experience. I used Public Bank Visa Electron and all i did was to choose credit card -> visa option. It works. To play safe, i contact ncsoft for solid confirmation.
