:help:Hi there seniors rclxms.gif , flex.gif got a question regarding REPEATING core subjects as stated in student handbook. Newayz dis ma question..say for example imz an 1st year EE/EP student and I fail CIRCUITS I [E grade] sem 1 and have to retake in 2nd sem coz itz a core subject.

It says in the handbook that "if student has yet to complete 30 credit hours(which is normally the first year work load) they can replace an E grade with the new grade they have obtained when they retake.Any grade obtained in further attempts wil be included in calculating the GPA ad CGPA"

*So will the E grade still appear on academic transcript[1st Sem] or will be replaced with the new grade obtained??
What will your transcript look like?.
*Regarding the GPA caculation does that mean that the NEW grade will be included in both sem 1 and sem2 GPA calculation & thus your CGPA accordingly? and will the E grade be disregarded??
*Does this only apply to CORE subjects?? What about maths subjects like calculus,DE,etc??
*Can you retake & replace for a subject u didnt fail but got low passing mark given that you are still within the 30 Credit Hours?
*If you fail a subject are those subject credit hours counted towards the 30 credit hours or do you actually have to get a passing grade in order for those credit hours to be included??
i.e 30 credit hours attempted or 30 credit hours completed[passing grade]??

DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS??

THANKS IN ADVANCE biggrin.gif

guys just from personal experience i wouldnt recommend Yaakob for CIRCUITS I..his english is not the BEST..he explains too quickly and just says "It's very easy",he sparingly gives out lecture notes (so it's hard sometimes to follow in class) and assignment can quite DIFFICULT..but again this my own personal experience..and i guess if u put in enough HARD WORK it wont matter who ur lecturer is..but good lecturer will make way EASIER for and considering CIRCUITS is a fundamental subject for EE & EP i'd recommend u find one that suits ur learning style, etc Dont really know much about other lecturers but from what i've experienced cannot be worse than Yaakob..Again I would like to reiterate this are my own personal views. I dont have anything against Yaakob..very smart man although he doesnt convey his knowledge properly to students. IMO.
