can we just overclock any kind of proc?

coz i'm confused about this es and oem stuff

oem = processor bought by OEM (hp, compac, acer, etc).
ES = processor that being use for testing by intel engineer.

OEM cpu is as the same as retail just it come with out warranty & HSF
ES cpu sometimes come with bugs & sometimes come with unlock multi, etc....depend on ur luck tongue.gif.

i'm planning build my own rig....i have E8xx series on my mind...maybe wanna oc it in the future..
so any retail proc will do?? hmm.gif

ES - Engineering Sample

the name says it all, its a sample for test engineering

OEM = original equipment manufacturer

sold usually to manufacturers in building their own products

wow! u really can read my mind la!....E8400 is really my first choice rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

a lot of overclocker here achieve 3.6-4ghz stable...

but still not enough budget la...maybe in a few month.

4ghz for e8xxx shouldnt be a prob... some even did it at 4.5ghz... depending on ur mobo and ram, furthest point u can reach may differ smile.gif
