without him we probably wouldn't have won so much in the past 3 years.
in many games he has won the game for us, when the team is not playing well. he will be missed for sure.
i know i won't please alot of fans here but i feel we will struggle without him nx season.

Must be a reason why we spend on Nani. This will be his season like C Ron first season when he replace Becks.

Rooney (If we get Benz maybe he will spend on the wings more to accomodate Berba and Benz)
& Tosic (Need to bulk up).

So my suggestion, use that 80 mill to pay the debt and just use our initial budget + Cambell money to buy Benz.

but SAF spend 3 season time to nurture him into a world class player, which he performing in season 06/07, and don't forget how SAF advise him to stay despite the clash with Rooney in World Cup 2006

You only truly notice his value when he's not playing. Selfless player, different from when he first came (though I'd like it if he went back to his selfish streak, scored some amazing goals then). Unlike Ronaldo, this is a player I feel would be our long term asset. Time and time again, hes sacrificed himself playing out of position for the badge. Yes he has some temper issues, but since Colleen's gotten pregnant his rage seems to have mellowed. His Shrek side. Hope he plays in the hole again a la what he does with  England. From what I see of his international games, he's been phenomenal there. I reckon if he stays fit and keeps that as his own here with United, he'll be a 30 goal a season player no problem. I wouldn't mind getting Heskey just to accomodate him haha. If only he'd take the no. 7 jersey.

Well said, can't agree more on the inflated price tag. It's ridiculous to think that you have to combine both Figo and Zidane to get one Ronaldo in terms of transfer fee. And do bear in mind, we are in the financial crisis period (or are they?). Well for sure I have no problem that United sell as much as they can with Ronaldo , but come'on, £65m for Ribery and £85m for Benzema!!??

People can probably build another football team with that amount of money. 

Or... if you add a bit more, you can buy Newcastle United

Fletcher isn't a direct replacement to Scholes. No one is actually. Although, Carrick + Anderson might be the direct replacement for Scholes (without the tackling part). Like Wan have mentioned, Carrick + Anderson + Fletcher or Carrick + Anderson + Hargreaves could do us wonders.

Carrick will normally take his time to spread his play unlike Scholes and Anderson. Between Anderson and Carrick, good passes are always made by the latter than the former but fast decision making is always taken by the former than the latter. Which is why Fletcher or Hargreaves is important; to win the ball for the both of them. And to cover the back alongside these two without comprising himself with cards ( Scholesy's bad tackles anyone?).

I just love how Scholesy plays. People would always predict that he will get carded and they are normally right. Funny. But you gotta love the guy, hollywood passes? No problem. Open plays? No problem. I wonder how did that someone stewpid in Post Season's thread saying that Scholesy is over-rated. If he does, what makes of Gerrard and Lampard? Or maybe Barry?
