u need to call celcom and make sure that they block ur data internet if not for sure end of the month u will cryin when u c ya bill statement

i called them..they dun hv this service only block data internet service.
they said if i got 3g celcom setting in the iphone, it will automatic use for the connection.
the problem is, in the iphone only the swirly MMS need celcom setting.
other than that no need any setting from celcom.
so now i am confusing with this..i dun wan sell off my iphone la

Jailbreak ur fone lar..install necessary app.. or jus insert gibberish words in ur APN settings.

You need to do a 'manual' disabling of your APN status.

Go to unlock.co.nz on your iPhone through Safari and follow the instructions.  After that, do a test run; ur phone will no longer be able to access the internet through 3G.  To re-enable it, just delete the Profile in your Settings.

This is probably the most $$$ expensive problem most new iPhone users will encounter so it ranks #1 in this section. The EDGE connection is 'ON' by default on every iPhone. This will incur hefty charges to your phone bill if the connection is used by applications over long periods. If you actually want to use EDGE regularly though over 3G or Wi-Fi, you may want to look at signing up for unlimited data plans which you can ask your telco provider about.

Most of us don't use EDGE unless we need MMS functionality, so the fix is as follows.

a) For non jailbroken phones, enter any irrelevant text such as "nothing" or "disable" in the APN field (Settings> General> Network> Cellular Data Network> APN) to disable EDGE.

APN password:xxxx

Dude, it's for all users. Celcom or not. It works with all telcos.

It works for so many here. Let me quote and and see it for yourself PLEASE. I don't even see a Maxis word in the quote..

You can also use either of these apps to easily toggle On/Off for WiFi, SSH, 3G, etc. To be extra safe, just enter any irrelevant text in the APN field (Settings> General> Network> Cellular Data Network> APN). *SBSettings has no icons. To launch SBSettings, slide your finger at the statusbar where your time/carrier is located. This will launch the program.
