Call For Law To Censor Pornograhic WebsitesQUOTE KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation today called on the government to draft a law to censor pornographic websites.
Its vice-chairman, Tan Sri Lee lam Thye said the law was not to prevent Internet technology from entering the country, but more on preventing the inflow of pornographic materials from becoming more rampant.
"Even though the government has launched a mass operation against the pornographic VCDs, pornographic websites which are still on the rise will have a negative influence on the young generation.
"It's high time for the government to take the next step (draft a law) to tackle the unhealthy elements of the Internet," he said in a statement, here.
Lee said the government and related parties should also nurture positive values among the young generation so that the rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) and the implementation of the smart school system would not produce cyber criminals.
"This matter should be given serious attention so that the young generation can practise self-censorship against negative influences of ICT," he added. http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v5/newsindex.php?id=413209

Heros Never Die
|
Lets see
As quoted by someone. It would increase the rape cases , trust me. Sex addicts would simply go out in the wild and do it. If that fails , people would pay for proxy services to hide the activities. Internet censorship does not really work
Its better to educate people rather then blocking them entirely. If they block it , trust me you'll be having more script-kiddies on the loose !

lol, if they do it the same way as blocking a certain famous blog last year. Bypassing it is as simple as switching to other DNS server.
