Hey, guys need some help here. Do you guys know where should I go to for Oakley warranty claim in Malaysia because I got mine from the USA last July. The coatings on my polarized lenses seem to come off little bit by little bit.[attachmentid=6326319]

Erm, I was a lifeguard back before then so I think it might be the chlorine that eats up the coating and yes I did stand under the sun a lot back then. Now I am just using it for driving, I try to contact the distributor of Oakley in Malaysia but seems like they do not operate anymore and the contact number and emails aren't working too. So, I don't know who and where should I refer this problem to. Sighhhhh

perhaps u can consider asking shops which are officially distributing oakley glasses and get a replacement lens? I think it's more likely caused by heat than chlorine. I was not exposed to excessive chlorine but mine cracked too doh.gif not an expert on this issue though.

Haha thanks dude. But isn't it irony that sunglasses is fragile towards too much exposure as in heat. It gonna cost a sum of money to get the lens replacement, sigh or else they are too ugly to be worn man. @.@

did u leave it in the car storage compartment and parked outside exposed to the sun for prolonged period of time? hmm.gif yeah thats the irony right? sunglasses is supposed to be exposed to the power of the sun doh.gif

Well wearing it outside under sun temp is lower than temp in the car under hot sun. In car temp can climb to reach 140f or 60C in worst case.

You can argue over time it heat up the glasses under sun or in car. But is the temp same? Power of the sun does it mean it can tolerate extreme temp?

I agree Oakley quality dropped, many ppl leave their glasses in car. They should test like many car manufacturer in areas like Arizona under hot summer days. Their testing is lacking

I agree to your statement as well.... Indeed if u leave it in the car the temperature could be alot more worse compare to by just wearing it under the sun. most opticians don't recommend keeping sunglasses in the car when parked under hot sun
