i've been using streamyx for 7 years now..

in my area,

i can set the modem to connect either using G.DMT mode, or T1.413 mode.

my question is, what's the different? there's no different in the SNR margin 24db-26db....

the only difference is

G.DMT, got extra delay, 4ms (from the modem it says, crc ..blka bla bla interleaved)

T1.413 , don't have this CRC thing...

and one more: g.lite. although g.lite gives me better dsl sync, i can't actually feel the difference in actual use really...

maybe u can't feel the difference in malaysia

no significant diff between g.dmt and t1.413 in malaysia

for the past 4 days, i've been switching between T1.413 and Gdmt.

My Findings are:

1. When i Use GDMT mode, the modem will lose SYNC after about 20 hours.. and i get a new IP everyday.

2. When i Use ANSI T1.413, The modem Stay SYNC even after 35 hours... for 2 days, i've been on the SAME IP.

conclusion?

T1.413 better than G.DMT?
