Here is the sounding of my dad's old classical guitar
http://www.supload.com/sound_confirm.php?get=351259952.wma

Is the sound better than yamaha F310 or F310 better?
I like the sound of acoustic guitar alot but wouldn't want to waste money of the classical guitar is better. I'm begineer though. THe clip is playing G major C major followed by G major. Is the most simply chord i guess haha.

I own both so I'll reply lah hehe.

I own a Yamaha C40 classical and an Ibanez PF-60S acoustic thumbup.gif

Classicals are mostly for picking. I used to use it for strumming before I bought my acoustic but it's not very suitable. The fretboard very wide so harder to change chords fast. The sound not very 'projecting' also. I just bought D'addario Hard Tension classical strings to try. If you strum classical, should use HT strings (read somewhere, don't sue me ya).

Acoustics can pick and strum. But acoustics don't have a mellow sound like classicals. Unless you use Silk and Steel strings which are a bit hard to find. The fretboard narrower so easier to change chords but steel strings are hard on the fingers at first.

I don't know, very hard to decide if I were in your shoes bro. Just get both haha. Actually on YouTube you can see videos of people playing classical music on acoustics and normally acoustic songs on classical guitars.

An acoustic guitar would be more versatile IMO. If i had to choose to own one id go with the acoustic guitar. Besides, from the sound clip u uploaded, i dont think its any better than the F310,if not worse.

So i would suggest you get an acoustic guitar as well.(im planning to get an f310 myself) =P

If budget is problem, F310 is okay lah. Personally I've heard better. Lam tops always have this sound. Not open like a solid top. I heard good things about solid top FG700 but the one I played really sucked ass. I guess I was just unlucky.

hmm i'll about that. thanks for the heads up. my takamine classical is ok for strumming but it just lacks the sound only steel strinGs have. btw ts, it also depends on what u want to play.

But how to bring with you? happy.gif. I think sound waves one not as accurate as vibrations on (clip on headstock). My Intelli sometimes go bonkers when there is other noise around.

And can bring the tuner to guitar shops so you don't embarrass yourself playing an out of tune guitar brows.gif

haha it always like that la TS, last time they also say the price will hike up. gud luk in your hunt~!

i believe u might want to test some of others low line of acoustic guitar brand besides YAMAHA. dun just simply follows others opinion, they might be biased. X.X

trust your ears and feelings. try out more guitar/compare them before making ur final decisions ^^

I think some Yamaha owners are biased, hahaha.

grumble.gif Where got like that wan. Must have recognized you and raised price as some sort of 'I told you so'.

Nevermind, not only Yamaha makes good budget instruments (but their quality control is best sekali thumbup.gif). Can try Takamine D-Series and Ibanez V-Series.
