Hello, i own a ipod nano 3rd generation... unfortunately the rubber lining of the earphone is tearing off. I'm looking a new earphone but ipod earphone is way too expensive for me.
any 1 would recommend a good(as in better than stock) earphone which is price < rm50 or < rm100.
if there ain't < rm100 earphone which better than stock then any decent would do.
thank u

Depends on what kind of SQ you want.
If for bass, Creative EP-630 is usually preferred. It only costs around RM50 here. Or if you're really stingy, Sony MDR-E818LP is insane value for just RM25.
Between RM50-RM100, I think the best choices are Koss KSC-75 and Soundmagic PL-30. I personally haven't tried the KOSS cos I'm not a fan of clip-ons, but there are so many rave reviews about it. I'm currently using the PL-30 and for slightly less than RM100 I'd say it's great value. Excellent SQ and includes loads of accessories.

PL30 is very very good.. But the shape might give you discomfort depending on ur ear shape.. Alternatively you can get PL20..

I mean, at RM25 it gives you some very nice sounds if you have very limited budget. If you have enough for an EP-630 go for it...... PL-30 has a very nice soundstage, I like it for orchestra/classical musics. But yeah, the design is really awkward and may not be for everyone.

QUOTE(ijatz @ Jun 9 2009, 10:54 PM) Bose or Bang & Olufsen. Consider budget in long run Yea, I like the B&O A8 as well, the design really attracts me. I was planning to grab it as well last time, but after some research on the earphone, I found out that it needs recabling and amp in order to get the best SQ out of it which means money money money so I settled with Klipsch in the end. Haha

I personally am using Creative EP-630 and I find it decent enough for daily music listening. As long as you're not an audiophile, most earphones around RM50-RM100 would do the job quite well. The only difference is that each might have its own stronger element like for the Creative EP-630, it is known to have one of the strongest bass for this price range.

No offense but the skull candy doesn't seem to receive gd comments from audiophile, they're only well-known for the awkward design I think but that's the headphone I'm talking about, may be I shall gv their earphone a try sometimes later xD

Er, I know Sri-Comp does sell them, but it's pretty expensive, they're selling it at RM120 whereas you can get the OEM EP630 at RM50 only at Music and Audio Accessories section under garage sale there. BTW, there're other that's better than the Creative EP-630 such as the SoundMagic PL-11, PL30 or PL 50, Music Valley SP1 or Crossroads Bijou, you can find them at garage sale there.

So, the warranty doesn't cover for earphones? Mine got tearing off too! and its still in 1yr warranty! Had an iPod nano 2g few years back. Its earphone was much durable than this one.

I don't think the warranty includes the earphone but frankly speaking the earphone is kinda lousy so why don't you get a new 3rd party earphone instead....

Yes, EP630 might sound btr than EarPump, there was an IEM that's very gd IMO at RM50, which is the JBL Reference 220, but now all sellers had increased the price to around RM100 xD

I'm currently using a JVC Marshmallow earphones, red colour. They're in-ear. Not sure how much it costs here, got mine in UK for about £10. It's not that bad, the sound produced is smooth and clean but the bass isn't very good. But you get what you pay for, no? Not to mention their colourfulness, guess it attracts attention.

Recently bought the Xbrand 1&2 earphone/earbuds in garage sale(music and audio), I gotta tell that these 2 earphones are the best earphones I've heard so far, design of the earphones are not so eye-candy tho. The earphone are as good as Yuin PK2 I gotta say with only half of its price
