Cibet cats are found only in the dense city of Kuala Lumpoq and the surrounding areas Aros. You can't find them anywhere else. They're distant cousins of civet cats.

Akagi, if you can, take only what you need and know you can keep alive/breed. Taking extras will just defeat the purpose of captive breeding. Good luck!

Cyberjaya has its own artshop. Very close to Hassan Cafe. Ask Leslie for directions if you get lost, but be prepared to sacrifice your arse if you have to ask him.

Lol. Thanks Hyourin. I was worried the monster will go on another rampage and dismember more defenseless scorpions.

I'm trying to acquire some new barkscorpions. Any ideas on a communal setup for 5-6 adult and a few subadult Striped Bark Scorpion (Centruroides vittatus)? These guys are climbers and will tolerate low humidity.

More likely an infestation of nematodes. Maggots wiggle about.

Larvae of fly = maggot. The ones you have in your tank are maggots akagi. Changing the substrate will do.

You may also want to consider getting a completely new batch of feeders. I had a fly infestation before. Placed some mealworms in airtight containers in an experimental attempt to find out the source of the maggots. All I can tell is, mealworms are not really the safest feeders around.

Trying changing the substrate first. And if there is a recurrence of the same condition, dispose the current batch of feeders you have - crickets, mealworms or roaches.

Good luck. smile.gif

Overfeeding la. Internal parasite is rocket science.

Powerfeeding is ah meng science..and it does have its implications. Continuously powerfeeding is not good for more than 2 reasons.

1. The internal skeletal structure outgrows the exoskeleton fast; hence the rapid growth and shorter moulting intervals, resulting in larger bulk in premature specimens or early maturity in juveniles. The faster you mature the faster you will perish. The opposite only applies in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

2. The softer internal tissues within the organs should take only so much protein, calcium, iron, bla bla bla and other trace elements within a given time frame. Imagine the liver of a bodybuilder overdosing on Creatine. Creatine acts as a sponge. It is assimilated in the bodybuilder's muscle tissue and absorbs water, giving the muscle tissue cells bulk. The body builder begins to gain muscle mass and strength, and gets excited. He pumps more Creatine into his system in hopes of becoming Mr. Olympia within the next year. His liver takes all the beating from the overdose. Over the next few month, his liver fails.

The story of the moral - everything in moderation is good. anything in excess is bad.

I have no ill intentions against you Lester. Hope your scorpions will do good. smile.gif

Thanks girliefacedguy (who is also probably confused of his gender).

Why no internal parasite? Because I judge by how healthy the scorpion looked just a couple of days ago. Internal parasites don't kill overnight. They deteriorate the scorpion from inside out and will show early signs.

Had to go to work on the Hentzis almost immediately as they were still housed in film canisters two days after landing. My colleague put together a helping hand in sourcing for materials. notworthy.gif

A scorpion that is not destined for breeding = an impotent scorpion. Virile scorpions are what we need. Hope we can both breed them Hentzis. I'm leaving work early to buy a few vials of testosterone to help them. tongue.gif

Breeding with the local wheedling femme fatales was pure pleasure. They give a good massage too, right before Happy Ending.

Hoping to watch some gluteus maximus flexing by the ladies at Midvalley over the weekend. flex.gif

You can throw your communal barkskorpies in this direction.
