Added on July 6, 2009, 8:33 amalso, anyone notice garmin GPS locking time is greatly reduced recently?

mine Garmin GPS locking is kinda fast and more power compare to my Dell Mini 9. Even inside my house i also can receive the signal. When signal is lock... i walk around my house still good and still lock my location. thumbup.gif

You have A-GPS enabled.

Err hmm.gif not sure how to enable it and i don't really know wat is the diff A-GPS and GPS laugh.gif

I just
Download the Garmin Mobile XT
K3yG*n to register it and dump in the SW.UNL file and 2 maps file to the directory
Start my garmin and go to setting set the GPS receiver to the internal GPS instead of using bluetooth (defaulted)
and walla... it works like a charm

Oh ya... i also dump in some language voice into it.
pretty cool for that a chicks voice informing you to turn to which road and heading to which road thumbup.gif

A-GPS is chargeable every time your launch GMXT. Unless you don't mind the few cents each time.

no discussion of hack please..
i don't want this thread to get banned sweat.gif
menu >> tools >> settings >> general >> positioning >> positioning methods
then you can see whether Assisted GPS is enabled or not (ticked or no tick)

i heard they charge 8 cents everytime AGPS is activated
*
ohh... yes, A-GPS has been enable. and i've disable it and try just now with integrated GPS. yes it works no different from A-GPS which i tried both of them. when i'm under a highway bridge it will lost signal for a moment and it connect back very quick once it detected a signal. very impressive thumbup.gif

that is how it's suppose to work
sometimes integrated GPS takes around 4-5min (more or less) to lock signal
but with A-GPS, signal is locked within second..of course it depends on your location
*
touch wood i didn't experience to take 4-5min to lock. i've tried few times jus now on diff location...go makan makan and jalan jalan from TPM - Serdang - Bukit Jalil - Seri Petaling.... all lock very quick within few second. thumbup.gif using GPS... not A-GPS laugh.gif could be my area coverage is good icon_rolleyes.gif

same prob here but mine is map only  mad.gif  make me more tulan is i send back to phone shop 3-4 times  vmad.gif  fix more than 1 weeks then ok then few days later same prob  come out again cry.gif
*
another solution for this which i had try is HARD RESET IT by
HOLD button "CALL" & "*" & "3" for second or two and then while holding press the power OFF button
after the phone is off
same thing HOLD button "CALL" & "*" & "3" for second or two and then while holding press the power ON button till you see the hand shake is out can release it.

Take your time setting up your phone back laugh.gif

After i done this my phone so far touch wood so good lar...no hang ady so frequent. 1-2day usage this few days is good, no hand at all thumbup.gif
