EDIT: Question for N82 gurus & veterans; Currently I'm using Best Torch v1.0, its nice but its not very bright at all. Any good "torchlight" apps to recommend?

Then that means ur shutter switch thingy on the main circuit board is probably malfunctioning coz the only time when the 3G camera runs is when the shutter is in the closed position or when u manually switch to it via the phone app when the shutter is open. I guess u'll have no choice but to take a gamble & send it to Nokia service center & hope that there isn't many ppl with spoilt phones in front of u.

AFAIK updating the firmware doesn't affect most of ur personal stuff thats on ur phone nor ur mem card. It "might" reset some settings that the firmware fixes though.

Nope, on my N82 white color is white color & not blueish so its due to ur LCD faulty I think.

Question for SUPER encoder sifus, normally what options do u select when encoding video (FLV to MPEG4 AVI) to view on N82. I chose 320x240, 30fps, 336 video bitrate, 44.1k samplng, 128 audio bitrate, stereo & the rest at default settings but after encoding I watch on PC ok but when xfer to phone the audio will lag 1sec. Any special settings needed for N82 so no audio lag?

Confirmed too. Copy & paste is all it takes to transfer all ur files from old mem card to new one.

Note: Make sure to set ur Windows Explorer to "Show all files & folders" coz a lot of the stuff is hidden which might explain why ur apps don't work if u didn't copy all of the files over to the new mem card.

The video is not jerking or lagging, just that the video & audio is like out of sync only. Starting play is ok, just little bit out of sync, then 4 - 5min in the syncing gets worse.

AGPS u have to pay ur service provider a bit to lock GPS satelite faster. With just my internal N82 GPS it "used" to take about 15 - 30sec to lock but currently due to satelite issues (I read on internet) I can only get GPS lock only after 3 - 5min before I actually start navigating. From previous experience (for me at least) you'll need minimum 6 or more satelites at near full signal strength to be able to navigate within 30sec.

If u'll be away from a power source to plug in ur charger then u'll just have to upgrade the standard battery with a higher capacity one which costs about RM50 - 60+. N82 is great for snapping pics & making calls but any applications that makes the screen activate for prolonged periods of time such as GPS navigation & video recording will drain the standard battery pretty fast as well as making the battery quite warm to the touch. On a full charge I'd say u'll get approximately 4 - 5 hrs of constant GPS navigation time before the battery warning sounds. The high capacity battery will give u extra about 80% longer battery life.

On average my smses get sent in about 2 - 5 secs regardless of receiver's provider.

I'm using SanDisk 16GB class 2 no problems. Just plug & play!

I've dropped my n82 a few times jor. It still works ok but the bottom part of my phone developed a sorta funny sound (like plastic rubbing on plastic) whenever I use the bottom 3 buttons of the keypad. From outside the seams & joints "look" ok but I think one of the hidden shell clips inside must have become crooked or something after the drop but I tried press press the keypad & bottom part but the sound still there until now. Its still working ok so I didn't send it to Nokia Centre or handphone shop yet. Scare afterward small problem develop into big problem after sending it in.

Are u using the ori factory firmware? If so then u could try upgrading the firmware which is quite straightforward process. I did it on the first day I got my N82. Last phone was 3310 so no prior experience in upgrading firmware. Btw, I've received the 1800mAh battery already. Thx very much

I got this problem currently. Only fix I can think of is rebooting the phone.
