No lah. I encounter this randomly while try to open Messaging, Gallery, etc.

Last I check during PC Fair (Dec'09) and last 2 weeks at LYP, SanDisk 8GB ~65-75
16GB ~165-175

hi guys! so i enquire with nokia care centre in sunway pyramid about replacing the housing for my N82. they quoted me RM350+!! according to them, once they open the housing, it'll effect the LCD, therefore i'll need to get a new LCD too.

another shop nearby can change to AP housing for RM80 but i'm not sure if they can change it without screwing up the phone cuz i heard it's quite tricky. alot of cases where the camera lid doesn't work or LCD crack after changing the housing with these small shops.

anyone know where to change the housing without needing to change the LCD?

I will goto other centres and seek other opinion. If LCD no problem, why do they need to change it ? I'm sure Nokia doesn't make the casing to go with the cover together. This is two main components of the phones which must be separate.

However, original casing itself is not cheap, about rm250-350.

yalor that's the thing, my LCD got no problem also they asked me to change. cuz they said if they open the phone to change housing, the LCD will crack.

the new housing costs RM150. LCD is RM150. workmanship is RM50.

guess i'll have to ask other NCCs or anyone can suggest a diff place it'll be great. i'm scared the other NCCs also say the same thing to me

N82 is best phone I ever owned...especially the Xenon flash...

there's a problem where I cannot open and read SMS saved in memory card...it started since last December if I'm not mistaken...but if I saved SMS in phone memory it can be opened and read as usual...so now I saved all SMS in phone memory...I think the memory card is the problem...but I'm not sure...FYI, the memory card is 2GB...just 1GB used...firmware V 31.0.016...other files in the memory card can be opened without any problems...I already scanned the memory card many times and tried to open the SMS but failed...

does anyone know what's the real problem?

I seriously do not trust any of those shops. They may take out your ori parts and swap with other parts.

If I were you, I'll try google/youtube on instruction (step-by-step) how to open up N82 casing. Then I buy the casing myself (satisfy with the condition, etc.) and DIY.

Do you know roughly how many sms/mms in your memory card ? I have tried stored nearly 6k sms in memory card, and it looks like hang, but in fact it took 3-7 minutes to open the folder. Not yet include the time it takes to open the message or scroll it.

Even 3k takes 30-120 seconds.

It loads faster if stored in phone memory. I stored 10k sms before and it takes 1-2 minutes to load.

how about momax xlevel battary?
is momax had more long lasting battery than the original battery??

just 379 SMS/MMS only...not even reach 1k...that's why I'm wondering why I cannot open the SMS saved in memory card...if the memory card got problem, then I couldn't open other files in it...if it's takes time to open the SMS, it's ok for me...but I cannot open it at all...first time it happened I have to connect my phone to PC suite just to read the SMS...after that I changed the memory in use to phone memory...

Since you mention it works using PC Suite, perhaps can you try again to switch to Memory Card and link to PC Suite ?

I suspect Memory Card might be faulty. Care to share the brand/model ?

Hye does anyone knows why does sometimes when i put songs into my memory card.. the folder will currupts.. and all the files in it will spoil.. =/ and i got to reformat my memory card always.. sighh my pics.. i dint back it up.. the folder appears to have some japanese words liddet.. and the file it write more den 45 gb.. =.=" crazy.. any solution ? is it memory card faulty ?

Yes, it works when using PC Suite. But when I tried to open SMS using phone as usual, it still cannot be opened. I also suspected the memory card got problem, but don't know what problem is.

I checked the memory card model but it just stated Nokia MicroSD 2.0GB there, no serial number or model number.

Oh, actually I forgot to tell you that my sister's N82 also got the same problem. Guess what? We got this problem on the same day. She got it first. In less than 30 mins, I also got it.

So far I have not heard problems from SanDisk or Kingston. It proves to be better to spend extra rm10-20 on it.

When you say cannot open sms from memory card, is there any error message come out ? Or hang ? Or have to reboot phone ? or how long you need to wait ? or how you resolve it ?

Try set the phone display to max timeout before screensaver (or disable it). Then wait 1-10 minutes to see, maybe it really loads ?

No error message. I don't know whether I should called it 'hang' or not because when I open Inbox, I can see the SMS list, but when I tried to open the SMS, failed. I mean I cannot open it at all. I already reboot the phone but still no change. That's why I change the memory in use to phone memory to solve the problem.

Regarding the phone display, do you mean the power saver time-out? If so, I already tried to set it to max time-out, that is 90 sec ad wait till 20 mins, but still no change.

Actually it's frustrated because I have a lot of nice, cute SMS saved in the memory card. I want to move them to phone memory, into My Folders but My Folders cannot be detected by PC Suite. So I just can copy them into Draft folder. FYI, I cannot open all SMS in Inbox, My Folders, Draft & Sent folder.

I'm wondering, if my memory card got problem/virus, then why my sister's phone also got this same problem? Her memory card is similar to mine. Can I assume it's the memory card faulty? But it's kinda weird because it happened almost at the same time.
