QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Oct 12 2009, 04:50 PM) I bought my N82 last year. It is a very good camera phone. Picture quality is great. agreed.. mine got lot of annoying dead pixels, anyone know how much the price to change the screen?? no budget to change the phone... But I have had 2 main problems with it in less than a year: 1) Camera trigger mechanism easily damaged. The camera actually still functions, but the hardware switch that starts the 5MP camera breaks easily. There's also no software-based way to trigger the 5MP camera. This has happened to me twice. First time I sent to the Nokia care center for them to fix. Second time just happened and I haven't fixed yet. 2) Dead pixels. Less than a year I see a few rows of dead pixels already. Perhaps it's because I'm a rough owner, I dropped the N82 a few times, but not very high. Like maybe a book length above ground. Anyway the phone is good as long as you take care of it. I'm going to send my N82 to repair, but I bought a new phone W995. So far I like it more than my N82. |

QUOTE(yoyoman @ Oct 12 2009, 06:46 PM) Haha not sure if you read wrongly, but I didn't buy W595, I bought W995. The W595 only 3.2 megapixels, while the W995 has 8 megapixels.W995 is my 1st Sony Ericsson phone, so far quite satisfied. But of course my N82 will always have a special place in my heart... |

Oh, I think only for certain SE models the price drops quickly. But for me when I buy a phone, I don't usually consider resale value as I plan to keep the phone for a long time.

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Oct 14 2009, 02:05 AM) Actually I did consider N86. But I read the ratings on gsmarena.com for N86 weren't as good as W995. i think the design of w995 did dragged people towards it. and the ratings means nothing, actually. Then I prefer the design of the W995, smaller and brushed metal surface. i was talking about the camera, forget to put it on the first post but since you already had the phone, im pretty sure you satisfied with it. |

My 1.5 years old battery is almost dead.
Any big difference for N82 clone and original battery? I check the price is 5X different and wonder its performance also 5X different. QUOTE(ziggy87 @ Oct 12 2009, 09:02 AM) Short battery life is a headache to me especially for outdoor photo shooting. What is the price for 1800mAh? Added on October 17, 2009, 4:35 pm QUOTE(~funeralofheart~ @ Sep 27 2009, 10:35 PM) I hacked mine when I first bought 1.5 years ago. Recently upgraded to v31 and it caused file corrupt error for new sis file installation. Nokia is plugged the hole in V31.Dun worry, new N82 firmware is still hackable. Googled it with find the way. QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Oct 17 2009, 07:42 PM) Doesn't that turn on the front camera, and not the 5MP camera? I believe you are taking auto-shutter like in the digital camera. It only turns on the 5MP camera if it detects the shutter is open, and that's my problem, the hardware is not triggering that information. Added on October 17, 2009, 10:27 pmToday have a window shopping at Low Yat plaza after six months absence. Notice handphone traders in Low Yat are more blood sucking than before especially the one in the corner lot at level 2 with a prominent Nokia logo on their shops. What on earth they are selling N82 battery original for RM238. Their battery is made with gold? I also asked myself did I look like Saudi tourist? Only no brain buyer is not asking around for price in Low Yat. This trader thought local people are brainless like them to pay any price for their goods. You know the one at the back of the phone?Yeah when I slide it, it's supposed to launch the 5MP camera right? If it's not working, the camera application will only launch the front camera, not the 5MP camera. |
