My guild is using www.darkstarllc.com as the host for our ventrilo. We have been using for nearly 2 years. Lately the performance of the server is getting worse. Last night was the last straw, the vent was down for more than 2hours.

We usually purchase a 35man server so that a 25man raid can be conducted even with people socialising in the vent forums. Do anyone know of any host that is value-for-money and has a stable performance?

We use gameservers.com, servers hosted in aussie. no issues so far unless tmnet screws up

My guild uses darkstar.

We tried out different servers because the connection lags due to the itnernational gateway. We tried Dallas, Hong Kong, Perth, Singapore. All terrible. In the end, we located one in LA.

Still using it and seems bearable.

Our guild members are mostly from Oz with ppl from Malaysia, Singapore, a few from US, Japan, Philipines, etc.

Yes I'm facing server outtage for sg location server. Tried to change the server location but it always fails. The website is so laggy.

Anyway, I'll give gameserver a go. Thanks!

Btw a tip when selecting your vent server location - find out where is the majority of your players coming from e.g. if most are mainly from asia, aussie, then best to get a server hosted near there.

It doesn't work, saingau. The biggest problem is the packet loss along the international gateway.

The classic example was the Perth and SG location. Just wasn't stable and the connection was so slow, not only for Malaysians but for other ppl in Asia AND Australia.

Surprisingly, the US servers were better and we picked one in LA. Somehow, connection to US are a lot better than connections to Asia.

julia88, fyi, we're moving to typefrag.com after testing it for 2 weeks. Better than Darkstar. Am cancelling the subscription with Darkstar.

I looking for ventrilo hosting company too.
Tested couple of servers hosted on SG and AU.. Not satisfy.
Maybe will follow myremi advise. Try those US servers

my guild recently switched from a Hong Kong server to a Seattle one. The performance has been improved a lot. So it's not about the proximity to the players.

Our vent sub is expiring and i'm hoping i can some good recommendation based on current servers/service providers performance.

We were previously on these:

http://www.ventriloservers.biz/ ---- 25 slots Singapore server for more than a year... 6/10 - lag
http://www.darkstarllc.com/ ---- 50 slots Singapore server for about 6 months... 4/10 - lag even worst than the first, every single day too (unless there were like 5 users in the channel!! We run 2 x 25man raids simultaneously, 4 nights a week for 2.5 hours each night.
http://www.imvox.com/ ---- 300 slots, 1 year sub.. still active.. 5/10 - doesn't work for some members, limited features and not exactly vent.

We are looking at 75 slots, 1 year sub. Majority users from SE Asia and Oceanic.

Any recommendation/feedback would be truly appreciated.
