I also originally wanted the high spec in silver, and also booked at the Puchong branch in January. I dealt with the lady boss, Vivian. She initially offered me the other colors options, black or white, early in March, but I resisted it 'cos I really wanted silver.

I changed my mind when I found out that the car loan agreement will expire end of April as the interest offer is only valid for 3 months after being drawn, and I have no intention to pay an extra 0.40 - 0.50 % more in interest. So I took delivery of my car, in white, last week.

According to Vivian, the Indian's assembly factory is pumping out more std spec, and that 2010 high spec was started near end of Febuary in limited quantities.

Color is changeable after all. After 5 years, I always have the choice of changing it to silver. Why 5 ? That's when the warranty finishes.

I'm satisfied with the car so far. It's exactly like the car I test drove in. So quiet !

I strongly suggest that your brother go for a test drive first, as there may be other aspects that he should be aware of. Being tall as mean having longer legs, so he should test how it feels with the legs placements. As for me, the steering wheel is only a few cm away from my knees, but have already gotten used to that when I was driving a satria.

I recommend that you try it out at the Puchong branch. Look for Vivian. She's the branch's manager. Tell her that Roosevelt sent you.

Welcome jrmy02 to the family of i10 owners.

I have been driving mine, 1.1 high spec, for the almost 3 months now and I have never had any of the problems that you've listed. For no.3, have you tried reading the user manual ? I know that I just skimped through mine.

My FC is between 13 - 14 km/l, with just under 5500km mileage on it. As with any new car, cheap or luxury, the FC will be crappy under 5k km mileage. You have to remember that an engine is a mechanical marvel with hundreds of parts moving in sync, so it'll need a bit of time to 'loosen up' before reaching it's optimal state, just like a pro tennis player have to practice daily in the hope of being a millionaire one day.

All those comments about bad FC of this car always seem to leave out how hard or soft were they pushing the cars. i.e., depress the gas pedal all the way down all the time, above 4K rpm will GUARANTEE high FC no matter how old the car is.

As for those who are concerned about underpowered when going up a slope, just depress the pedal more and switch off overdrive (O/D Off) la. After all, none of the comments seem at all concerned about doing so when on the highway, in fact, complains that it's difficult to go over 110 km/h, eh ?

As for servicing cost, I feel that it is affordable for regular maintenance type, i.e. engine oil change, oil filter, etc for under RM 200. Of course it'll cost more for those parts replacement servicing. Am budgeting about RM 500 for those times.

As for those concerned about the lack of boot space, IMHO, you have to ask yourself whether do you always have to carry 3 cartons of mineral water bottles all the time. 3 cartons is about the maximum number that the car can carry side-by-side. If you are a single driver most of the time, you can always fold down the back seats flat to get more, though I seriously doubt anyone does that all the time.

Of course, it's not all hunky dory for me. Right now, I am experiencing slight windows rattling on the driver side whenever I drive on rough surface road. Less noticeable when on the highway though. Also heard some rattling noise coming from the passenger side occasionally. So far no rattling of the dashboard like my old Satria. Crossed-fingers.

Btw, I am of 198cm in height and I can easily get in and out of the car, and the car has more than enough height clearance even when I am sitting at the back. Such a huge difference when compared to my old Satria. Sorry old boy, you will NOT be missed.

At the end of the day, a car is just a tool to fulfill a need. If your need is to commute within a short distance from your home everyday, with the occasional long distance travel, go to the shopping malls (who doesn't ?) and navigating packed & sometimes narrow parking spaces, then this car is just perfect for it.

I bought it because of the fact that I can get ABS & EBD, 2 airbags and better engineered body than any of the national cars for under RM 50K. And of course it fulfilled my needs, for the moment.
