I bought an iphone 3gs last year bundle together with iData 2 contract which is RM50 per month commitment with 500mb volume quota. I never reach the quota limit because I have wifi at home and only used FB, whatapps and normal iphone apps outside. My average usage is about 100mb - 150mb per month.
After end of my contract last month, I called Maxis and changed my plan to iData1, RM25 with 250mb volume quota. Unfortunately last month, my usage exceed quota and maxis charged me RM256 for extra 62mb. My bill last month was RM470. I know and understand that a lot of Maxis customer face the same problem with me but I still insist to call 123 and asked them about this issue. One of the agent told me that the charged is correct and even sent me itemised bill for my data usage only. I asked them to give me some discount since the charge totally unreasonable as other telco just throttle the speed when exceed limit. I told them I want to change to other telco if they dont give me discount. I gave up because they seem ignore me and told me a lot of maxis customer used to face the same problem like me. Then I report to MCMC about this issue but still no reply. I end up paid RM500.00 at maxis centre penang to avoid my line from getting bar (my credit limit is RM600) and bought a new iphone 4 together with iValue 1 (1GB volume quota) After a few days, Maxis respond to my complain from MCMC. They told me this is my mistake because I exceed volume quota but for this time only, they credit back RM256 into my account and if next time I exceed limit again, I need to pay per use and the max charge is RM250. I dont argue much as long as I get back my money and said thanks after that.
