Yes,DiGi is unlimited, the fullspeed (if u can get it) till 1GB limit, then it slows down to GPRS....but data still free after that....

Added on May 8, 2010, 2:09 pmJust for those who were asking, iPhones are set to access data ALL the time.... examples:-

Mail.... once open, it does not close... its always running in the background, even u exit the app..... and if yr setting is default, it will always check for new mails....

Apps: Most FREE or LITE apps has ads.... these ads are dl-ed off the air via yr data...

Notifications: most push notifications apps (mails, IMs, Facebook, Tweets, RSS) all are data sent to you...

Location services: Some apps asks to use yr location, but not all uses the GPS chip, instead they get yr location data via the phone broadcast stations (aka A-GPS)... these are data...

GPS: Apps like Maps, Google Maps and GPS starts with A-GPS, which triangulate yr location using phone broadcast station... and then dl maps from Google... all are data...

Auto Lock: When iPhone goes into auto-lock, the WIFI is set OFF.... so if yr apps or mail or browser is dl-ing when the iPhone auto-locks, it uses 3G or EDGE or GPRS to continue dl-ing.... and thats data...

So, by the list above.... even if you dont SURF using Safari or Opera, u will still leak data...

Oh.... and u cant disable EDGE or GPRS from the Phone.... unless u..... do something i cant mention here....

Maxis and DiGi will not be so dumb to completely disable yr data plan as they know this is where they make money.... u think they subsidize almost RM1000 off smartphones just because they are doing YOU a service, or they have too much money and they wanna share it with you.... LOLZ...

Thats the cost of owning a smart-data usage-phone... get it if u know what you are getting into, and have a data plan ready....

What do you meant you can't mention here? illegal for doing that?
I thought there are those posts like jailbreak and etc which i don't understand well...those are legal?
*
U can no longer post details about Jailbreaks, whats it about, how to do it, and what to do after JB...

So only with JB can u disable EDGE and GPRS.....

But then, inside Cydia there are ads that can leak data from yr iphone.... my unit has all data, 3G, EDGE, GPRS set to off... only WiFi is on, and yet it still leaked 3Kb data some how....

Luckily i have DiGi's 1GB plan.... but i use it when i not using home, ofc or free Wifi...

Meaning.....If i use Digi....the data download is free....

So i can active my mail box anyway i go....
*
ONLY if you are subscribed to the iPhone plans (i88, i138 or 1238) or the RM68 internet unlimited or the smartphone plans.... all of these DiGi plans has some data plan attached...

Lets say u get i88 which has 1GB... the total data u can get is actually unlimited.... so u can get up to 10GB (if u can get that much mail + data + internet + porn per month) all at same RM88 per month.... so yes, u can activate yr mailbox all the time, anywhere...

Only diff is your initial 1GB will be at 3G speeds.... after that DiGi will throttle your data speed to EDGE or GPRS (meaning slow as hell for internet, but still ok for mails)...

Can some1 describe how user can reach 1G data quota? I mean how many mail perday, hours of surfing perday etc.. Tq!

Dude, lets count my ways...

Apps store: I have 4GB worth of apps in my iPhone, mostly via PC, but sometimes i update them on the fly (3G)...

Emails: I have an average 80-100 mails per day (work) and another 30 or so (personal)... some comes with attachments...

Data: News and data apps (Berjaya News, Live Cam traffic report from 1Malaysia apps, engadget, CineApps, Google apps like Google Calender, Google Maps - even as i have Papago M6, Google Docs, etc)...

Internet: Safari (thestar.com.my, ign.com, gizmodo, lowyat.net, work related, etc)

Social Network: IM+ always on (24hours)....

Games: Open Fient, multiplayer, etc...

What else??? Youtube (but i dont youtube at all via iPhone, i grab MKVs).

Its easy to hit 1GB if u r using the iPhone as a data smartphone, and not only to sms and call....

Peace... icon_rolleyes.gif

not sure how u can do all that without having to recharge 2-3 times a day..
*
Normal charge once a day... i leave my phone on wall charger till morning and its at 100%.... by 8 or 9pm, the batt goes to 5% or lower.... then it goes back to the wall charger...

Occasionally, esp when i play with Papago, then will charge the phone in ofc using notebook usb la....

Oh.... my reply was on the WAYS to consume 1GB of data per month.... and my digi bill for data usage from 8th April to 1st May was 800MB.... am sure to hit 1GB if its a full month.... blush.gif blush.gif

meanwhile better get the digi iphone plan rather that maxis iphone plan ar ?
i also plan to get sign with the iphone plan.. but still consider between maxis and digi .. digi only attractive me is the internet is 1gb while maxis is only 500mb..
but i'm using the maxis line now. all most of the call and sms i do is on the maxis network ..
i damm worry after i sign the idigi88 then my call rate is still under their free 200min offer rate??

and 1 question to ask.. currenltly i'm maxis line user. can i switch to digi network without change my currently number and sign the idigi88 plan ???

hope someone can answer my question. TQ smile.gif

Digi iPlans call minutes and sms applies to ALL network, so u can still use up those allocation while calling other networks....

Yes, u can port your number to DiGi, but they will take one day to port it, only after success porting can u sign up for the iPhone plans.... meaning u cant get it the same day u port it...

Depends on yr needs.... if u going to use iPhone without worry on data, go DiGi that has unlimited data plan, u dont worry abt paying extra up to RM250 like in Maxis....

If u going to use iPhone mainly for calls, and is extra careful on the auto data leeching by iPhone, then go Maxis.....

Its yr choice....
