it doesn work anymore!!that iphonenodata thing.i kept uninstalled n installed coz i lost RM10 per day,im a maxis prepaid user.huhu.wat to do??
if change to digi can i still keep my phone no?

mine is jailbroken,n been installed iphonenodata for the pas 2 months to avoid edge charges,
but suddenly,these pas few days.i lost RM10 credit per day coz that iphonenodata doesn work anymore,
even i still had it now,my credit keep draining..

before you complain in here, check you don't have apps running in the background that fetch data.

Check that in email, Fetch is set to Manually
Check that Notifications is set to off for all your apps

Monitor your usage and let us know.

for people tied to a contract, they can't just change to <cheap provider> can they? all they want to do is to be able to control their data usage, and this thread is supposed to help with that.

lol yea for me it doesnt say no celular data. all it does is it tries to connect, but it doesnt manage to. so im assuming that no data is received...
...i might be wrong...if u use SBsettings to off 3G and EDGE, all u have is GPRS right? do u use SBsettings as well?

i used iphonenodata since 1st tym i bought my iphone,

it wont load and said 'no cellular data network'
but now it tried to load but as u said,no data transfered rite.
i think turnin off the push notification wud work.
n i just did wat lordashe said

anywy doesn wifi also uses edge if the connection is slow?

lol i took out all the stops.
im using sbsettings, iphone settings as well as iphonenodata profile.
ive checked my credit. no change!

To be safe, turn off Location Services and Push as well.

FakeAPN or other methods will not work anymore as according to Superman7, 3G/EDGE usage is activated through Maxis, rather than being determined by the APN.

Hi all, I'm on Celcom and found that iphonenodata does not work but when I tested DIGI ok. So right now I am trying with Fake APN and using SBSettings to turn off 3G/Edge. So far data usage is 0 for the past 24 hours. Don't know if this is effective to totally stop data usage.

if got ads how to close it?

Something pretty interesting happened today... like a few pages back I'd mentioned that my first month bill data charges was a whopping RM180+ because I was not aware my cut-off date is on 24th of every month. I registered on the 17th of Dec in this 7 days time my data usage is more than 150MB.

Since this is my first month using Maxis so I thought maybe I should try my luck to ask for some discount. So I wrote them an email saying that I was not aware of my cut-off and my data usage was overboard so please give me some rebate. Few days later which is today, surprisingly they called and said they will give RM100 discount on the data charges!

Checked on the *100# service menu, indeed there is a -RM100 in my account. So at least Maxis is doing something good while there line quality is extremely bad...
