I am in aussie now.. but when back in msia.. i DISABLE the cellular internet access.. only access internet via wifi.. it works.. no extra charges..

It's not like you gonna get loads of MMS. Alternatively, the 500MB data package cost only RM68 p/month.

i always use mms
but still...you can disable cellular data network and still be able to use mms

your iphone is not jailbroken right?
so does your maxis bill on data really match with iphone counter?

I don't religiously check it but thus far it's been quite accurate (plus minus 10%)

Even when jail broken I'd say it is pretty accurate off by 10mb or so (in my case less??=_=) .. i thought i had close to 130+ mb at least but it turns out I only used 122mb.. what a waste...

Hi all, been following this thread for a while. Just want to update on my personal usage. Have just subsribed to Maxis Internet Mobile sometime last month a week or 2 after my statement cutoff, so this month statement came and apparently i only used like 65MB. I actually subscripe to their RM58 package.

so u r not utilize/maximze the package then..

u rarely use ur data plan?

guys,want to ask how much maxis charge for 1 kb?
i didnt go online sometimes but network date usage will still run.....anyone can help?

Glad to inform that my first bill is within my expectation. Data statistics from iPhone somewhat match Maxis. Since I forgot to reset on 17th (my billing cycle), I'd say the numbers are pretty close. This is my usage of two weeks.

iPhone: 107.3MB
Maxis: 101.9MB

My phone is Jailbroken 3Gs.

Let's see how it goes for this month..

Better subscribe for data plan la cuz it really hard to monitor usage per kb.

As this thread goes on providing more information to new users, I want to make an observation (and please don't get offended ppl) that so far the usages not tallying with people using the IPhone(JB/Non-JB) could be due to carelessness on the part of the user.. it is easy to sometimes use data without thinking about it.. perhaps sometimes using restore or whatever reset your usage counters??

Personally I'm a victims.

There is no way to turn off 3G or edge in the iPhone. According to Maxis customer support manager, Apple iPhone design such a way which data go first and probably you can turn on Airplane mode.

The only thing you can do is call up Telco helpdesk and request for turn off edge, 3G and blacklisted ur phone number for 3G and Edge access. Previously I did that b4 but somehow I will not able subscribe to per hour or per day internet access (Maxis).

how do u guys check the data usage from maxis? is it from the maxis bill? my bill doesn't show the usage. thanks

my iphone usage date running itself too without surfing internet
everytime increase like few kb in 20-30 mins.called up maxis they also dont know,went maxis centre they also don;t know...anyone can help with this???
