got my iphone on the 7th of November..not on any ivalue or idata plan..got my maxis bill dated 10th November a few days ago and got charged for 17mb internet usage which is about rm170++!! so i called maxis CS n asked how come i got charged so much data as i use wifi all the time..n they said wifi is very unstable so when got disconnected we will be using their data without notification...n funny thing is i said 'so means there's nothing i can do just pay this extra rm170 is it' n this smart guy answered 'yes actually the best is u connect to the internet using ur pc / laptop' then i go like zzzzz swt swt swt..

U should at least the 5 mb for rm8, and aftet u finish the 5 mb maxis only charge u at 1 mb for rm 5, compare nw 1 mb rm 10

yeah i told the CS guy to sign me up for the 500mb data which is rm58 monthly..better than getting charged rm170 for 17mb its really ridiculous..but apparently system down til 20th nov...

hello there! i know u have topic regarding about this matter but still.. i cudnt find any solutions regarding about my iphone.

im a prepaid user and i had subscribed to maxis broadband which they have d promo rm25/week. so i only subscribe it for one week. but d week after and for 3 months now, d nitemare starting to appeared!

it seems dat my money had been deducted and gone everytime after a 15mins topup even its rm100 due to GPRS connection. as wut the maxis person told me whenever i called them asking why my money had been drained!

then i ask them to disabled the GPRS while im using sbsettings & bossprefs to turn OFF 3G & EDGE. still, d money gone just like dat. i dunno how to turn it off for now. and FYI, im using jailbreak iphone 3G wif 3.0 firmware.

another alternative to solve my probs, i did delete my email accounts at mail settings. i turn off fetch new data. push off. my data roaming is off.

MMS - also had caused me troubled enough. maybe because i had turned OFF 3G & EDGE, it seems that i cudnt send @ receive mms! my maxis carrier is 4.0. i did the apn settings but still didnt work out. any solutions maybe? plz help me as this matters had caused me enough trouble for 3 months and sorry to say, none of d maxis presenter can help me with my probs. tq!

So far i have download more than 100GB of data using the sim card no extra charge

I just signed onto the ivalue1 last week (7th nov) and got my phone. Reading all the posts here has been really freaking me out. Has anyoen received their bill and was billed properly sans the exhorbitant amount that seems to plague almost every complain here?

i received my phone on 22nd OCT and the bill came out on 24th OCT and I have to pay RM176.95 deduct my RM40 deposit so its RM136.95...The maxis said everything is prorated to 2days..so every benefits we get for iValue1 is divide 30days and times 2days of usage lor.. So my bill so freaking high..lost in complaining and forced to pay the bill..haiz..they say thats how they play for the first month..Thats the way of MAXIS Cheat the customer's money

angemk, is it u use the data service before the plan was activated ? that time still count as pay per use charger

Maxis took like 2 days to activate the iValue plan..
So the 1st 2 days, is counted as pay per usage..

y took 2 days ? she just port in from other celco ?

mine took 14 hours like that ...

Don't know. It depends? Its better to ask their staff on that day we pick the phone to avoid these problems.

Hi all, reading all your experience is really scary. I too got a huge bills during the first 2 months of getting my iPhone, but now have switched over to the RM58 plan for data. The bill is not here yet, but hopefully it's within the price.

this doesnt work on me. i use fakeapn, it disable for awhile. then when i on wifi and use, gprs works without me knowing.

wat model? set from where

Jailbreak the phone and turn off the 3g/Edge so that way you will save..

How'd u know your GPRS is in use if you're connected via Wifi?

Oh, previously xpressside you mentioned about the fakeAPN draining battery, yes it apparently could happen if you turn on FakeAPN and still leave Edge on..

I noticed my battery drain from 100% to 95% in about 57 minutes(standby) . As the article mentioned, the OS goes crazy trying to restablish connection using the fakeAPN and I guess that is what was draining the battery.

Turning off Edge as well fixes the problem, but it leads me to another curious question. As far as I can tell, even with FakeAPN off, turning off Edge effectively cuts me off from data usage. I offed it along with 3G and fakeAPN off(original apn settings) , I wasn't able to access anything.. so maybe we don't even need FakeAPN.. can anybody else verify this on their unit?

If 3G is OFF without fakeAPN U can still be connected to data service via EDGE/GPRS.
