Btw, don hv to be over-worried that Maxis will overcharge u. Install the "iDataUsage" and start monitoring ur usage. Don forget to allow some buffer though.
There is no point getting the iphone or smart phone if u r going to turn off all the smart phone features.
As long as u know how to monitor ur usage, u will be fine!
