Maxis user here. Billing period from 24/9 - 23/10, data usage differs by a couple of MBs, no biggie.

Only thing that is strange is that the bill never did arrive via e-mail.

just to remind those newly register...
for newly register, do beware of data usage.
the maxis cycle bill is fix ..begin 28th and end on 27th every month.
thus, if u register on 15th, ur data usage is actually pro rate...
u only have 1000/ 30 * 12 = 399.99mb to use..
so that is why many ppl get shock on first bill as they think their first day register is their cycle billing date which is wrong
for maxis, all bill cycle begin with 28 and end on 27th for all as inform by their customer service
or any1 can help me check or clarified?

The bill cycle mostly start 5-6 days after the date of purchased..so to be safe,for the first 5 days turn of the 3g data setting...

They have a few fix bill cycle dates, last time my one was on the 10th now i change to 7th... So the thing you must do, call up and ask when is your bill comes for the first month... Just to prevent any shocked bills !!

Don't know Maxis will waived or not, if you said "Maxis CS never informed me on this pro-rata basis thingy so i'm not going to pay the extra"

hmm mine seem different is not 5 days....
i register on 10/15 but my bill end on 10/27
the pro rate is told by the CS just now i call....
so my limit for this oct is cap @ 400mb and i already use 300mb...lucki i call or else....

Well mine starts on 22 every month..i sign the contract (iphone 3gs) on 16th..the first month i got billed 250++...really get mental shock that time but now really happy with maxis

I have the similiar problem which I used up to 612,780kb in total but the bill charged 3,063.90 minus 500MB = RM542.05 and minus 1GB = RM2,271.92 but in the end I still have to pay RM249.93 why? My bill cycle day is 17/09/2010 - 16/10/2010

AFAIK, there's such thing as fixed data billing cycle. each user can have his/her own specific billing cycle.

pro-rate basis scenario:

original billing cycle is on 17th of every month, registered for new iPhone (iValue/iData) plan on 24th on September, let's assume you signed up for the package with 1GB of data.

on a pro-rate basis, you will have a data cap of approx 766MB until 17th October.

Uh, juz got my 1st bill since signing up for ivalue 1. My data usage only 130mb according to my bill, its 150mb on d phone. Wow, 850mb wasted haha. Good thing though

but although apps are running behind, usage always tell the correct right ? but the shock is all this while i just use 2GB on almost 1 whole year.. since last year i buy the 3GS. now gonna hunt for IP4 !!

any recommendation app to monitor the data usage?

Update: Just called maxis CS and they admit they made a mistake in charging me the 'Contract Extension Admin Fees' so CONFIRMED for those who bought the phone on launch day will get the free waiver.

one more thing.. remember that we pay advance rm200 for pre payment when we purchase ip4? CR said rm40 will be deduct for 5 months in our bills.. any of u got deduct in the bill?

where does the maxis bill show KB usage??

If i m not mistaken the prepayment will be credited back to u fr ur 2nd bill onwards as ur 1st bill didnt capture the one full month usage. Pls correct me if i m wrong.

It will deduct out on 1st bill...my prepayment is RM400 and my first bill have been deduct Rm80 .
