I'm one of the lucky persons who was able to experience the 'boom-boom bang-bang' of htkaki's new toy svs pc13+

Svs did outperform spl 1200 ultra. Bass is tighter, more refined and provides more depth. I remember there's a scene where I can really feel the people running down the staircase from far, which spl could not provide. And a scene in Master and Commander where the blasting of canons took place. I felt like the canon is blasting towards my direction.

Other than that, I felt that svs did not outperform spl very much. In certain scenes I could not find any difference between both of them. Maybe just my peasant ears, but that's what I felt.

Giving the same price range, I'll still recommend Svs. But this is a real gigantic thing that will consume up your space. If you have enough space to play around, go for it. Guarantee no regret.

Too bad I will not be able to get this thing as my HM definitely won't approve it. I just bought the CHT-10Q not too long ago, and she'll notice the difference immediately if I change the sub. I heard htkaki said even pb13+ is also a gigantic thing which will break your back if u were to carry it alone. Guess I'll have to settle for spl 1200 ultra as I got a quite attractive deal from A&L for trading in 10Q for spl. My HM won't be able to spot the difference as both of them almost the same size.

btw, i've never heard of Rythmik Audio at all

anyway, i've also got my new sub recently
the performance really blew me away, old sub no match at all

velo spl 1200 ultra
initially i wanna get the svs pb12+
and very keen on getting it
but the size of the sub taken me aback
since i'm placing my sub in the living room
my HM doesn't like any gigantic sub resting there

if i were to have a dedicated HT room
will definitely get svs sub

yup, brand new
in fact it's a trade in deal with the shop
I traded in my few months old sub with full value
if not have to fork out 6.5k for the sub

I think the difference between low end sub and high end sub really does matter in terms of overshadowing the details from other speakers
I felt the exceptional booming of the sub for my previous 10Q
but for spl 1200 ultra, I can feel that it blends well with the front speakers yet providing deep bass

for me it's definitely justified
not only becoz i've paid 3X the price so i must make myself feel it's justified
the performance really wins hands down

but again if i have the choice
i'll go for svs sub
but too bad i have to leave out the choice

Thought that the difference is really that significant to make u ditch the boxed spl 1200 ultra

btw, I auditioned at Htkaki's house before for his PC-12+ and one forummer's spl 1200 ultra
the difference is not heaven and earth
For me, svs wins marginally on certain functions like deep bass, and natural bass
the rest I found no difference

I've thought of getting pb-12+ for upgrading (cylinder sub is no way for me due to wife factor)
but then I have to give up due to its gigantic size and space constraint
in the end I settled for spl 1200 ultra which I found not too far away from pc-12+

I've thought of getting SB12 instead
but heard that not enough oomph
only if SB15 is released earlier I will consider that

I agree with u that it can't go lower as it's a sealed sub
but after few rounds of movies
I can say that spl 1200 ultra gives me the bass effect that I want
on certain scenes with low LFE I can even felt the compressed air blowing my feet
