hi guys. i recently buy pioneer subwoofer s-rs3sw. since this is my first real subwoofer, how do i make sure that this subwoofer can last long. any tips of do's and dont?

is it much better to set the front speaker as small and let the sub do all the work?

i read the instruction telling to make sure the reciver is on first before the subwoofer and to switch off the reciever first before the sub too. is there any bad side effect not following this?
